Ok - can we have your ideas on how to mount a solar panel on the roof of the Grenadier. How to mount it - underneath the roof rack would be ideal to get it out of the way, but not ideal for solar collection. Mounting it underneath the optional roof rails would be ideal, but not if you want a roofrack. Where to run the wiring. If you are using the Electrical Preperation, would you utilize some of the existing roof wiring sockets for that (the one designed for the light bar perhaps), or would...
Thread 'removal of side panels driver side and using the auxiliary power point'
I still don’t understand why Ineos gives me a lot of useless switches on my roof panel without any explanation. Therefore, and thanks to this forum my next DIY post (DIY: Do It Yourself), and I didn’t find on this forum somebody who already did it, but perhaps I am wrong … I dismounted the Left-Hand Drive (LHD) footwell side panels (Driver side) with the intention to use the auxiliary power point (not yet documented by Ineos, but well bespoken on this forum, thanks to the discovery of a...
From November 2023 all batteries used in recreational vehicles in Australia must (which might really mean may)* comply with Australian Standard AS3001.2:2022. The link is a summary of the standard. It applies to Lithium, Lead-Acid batteries etc. It is worth a read. More info here. If your battery does not meet the new standard, it may impact your insurance policy, in a worse case scenario the insurer may deny liability. So check policy wording - I really hope it is not added to Policy...
Note: @Stu_Barnes / @Krabby I think I have put this thread in the wrong forum section. Could you move it to the correct or else delete it sorry about that. Hi All, Not my video but just found this one on the Tube --> credits to Studio Incar In the beginning they discuss shortly the factory speakers and afterwards it is a in depth review of the upgrade they performed. I am certain that I have read of Grenadier windscreen wipers turning themselves on and the driver not being able to turn them off. I have just had (am having) this issue myself. Did anyone experience the same and find a fix for it (I have tried a couple of times turning the car off and on again without success)? I have a feeling that I have read of this problem on the forum but my search has not turned up where I read it. I have spoken to my dealer and they diagnosed (remotely) that it was...
So, i’ve discovered a minor thing that’s actually a daily problem, at least for me. Im hoping to suggest a fix in future software updates. firstly, there is no physical pause, or stop button for audio anywhere. The mute button strangely does not pause audio/podcasts/books playing on an iphone. the infotainment screens will only let you pause content if you are looking at track info, not anywhere else in the relevant app, let alone if you are looking at satnav, phone, or any other function...
So Guys because i cannot leave well enough alone and because i was really annoyed when they promised us a 400w inverter and took it way the last moment , i have ordered all the bits from my dealear to retrofit . While waitting for the parts to arrive i would greatly appreciate anyone who has one of the new deliveries with the 400w power take off to take some pictures of the wiring . I know the inverter is mounted in the Left hand rear panel just infront of the jack . What i am really...
Morning, I have an issue with carplay (google or apple maps) not showing 'live' position unless under 20kmh. As 20kmh is reached, it will hang. It will then update to live when <20kmh. I notice this also happens with the compass and the pathfinder screen. Anyone experiencing this? Any solutions? Car is great, infotainment/ electrical bits are not 100%. Waiting for system update.
Not sure if other owners have had issues with parts availability from Ineos. It has taken 3 weeks for parts to arrive from Ineos and to be fitted. I hope to finally pick up my vehicle today. 4 weeks off the road. 1 week to get the vehicle back to the agent and for them to diagnose the issue. But 3 weeks to get Steering control module and fixing bolts Not what i was expecting from Ineos and the promises of parts within 24hrs. I expected some issues and bugs with a new vehicle, but i bought...
Thread 'Battery post wiring options – add your suggestions'
UNILUG One thing I hope to do is upgrade the battery terminals on the auxiliary battery using the Unilug. Full technical specifications for the Unilug here. The product guide will answer most of your questions aiout the Unilug. Warning: the clearance on two seater models is less, so greater care maybe be required before installing the Unilug. I will use it on the positive and negative terminals. The Australian designed Unilug looks like this (my Blog has more detail here): BLUE SEA...
Thread 'Passenger Air Bag Setting'
Hi there, I discovered that the passenger airbag had been turned off, so I tried to turn it back on, when I went to the setting I found out it had been disabled! WHY? Shouldn't we have the choice to activate or disable it? This is a flaw in the car Safety system. What will happen to the passenger who occupies this seat?
My dashcam, like a lot of modern dash cams, has a rear view camera with a handy dangling red wire that can optionally be connected to the positive 12 volts of the reverse light. This allows the display to switch to the reverse mode, complete with guide lines. (I know the car has this anyway, but the display on my dashcam is better!) As a quick hack I’ve wired it to the drivers side interior footwell wiring, so I can manually switch it to reverse mode with a flick of an overhead switch...
Thread 'Rear Spotlight mounting!'
Hi all, own a Grenadier Commercial. I've found that the reverse lights are too dim to illuminate the track as you reverse. I want to fit an 8" Lazer lightbar on the gutter rail facing rearwards. Can anyone reccomend a supplier please, or any other ideas on how to mount either a rear facing LED bar or Spotlights! Thanks!
The baptism of fire for my newly purchased sete green fieldmaster was Brisbane to Melbourne in scorching 36 deg weather along with wife and dog for Christmas with the kids. All great for 500 klms then the aircon decided to open the heat flaps along with the aircon increasing the cabin temp to a stifling 46 degrees , all adjustments were futile. Windows down all the way to Newcastle dealer Frazer's, who reset it, then same thing happened in Winton, the stifling interior heat has made it...
Hi all. I'm heading in to local dealer for software update and some other fixes this week. Does anyone know if the software update enables wireless Android auto? I read that some of our US owners have this facility in their later issued vehicles. I have a road trip coming up. Would like to sort out relocation of cubby usb c before that the trip if it isn't part of the update. Pedro
Thread 'Alarm going off during the night.'
Having a load more problems with the car after the software update. This is my First new car and I’m somewhat disappointed that I have new problems every week with it. The alarm in now going off in the middle of the night. 3 times so far and it’s almost 6am so I guess that’s me up for the day. Other fresh problems I’m having if anyone can shed some light on them. We know how helpful the dealers can be. Any answers or solutions to any or these issues. -Bootwash on the passenger door...
Yesterday I was driving along with the Temperature screen showing and a “Cannot see tyre sensors” error appeared. All four Tyre sensors went down at the same time. There was a dash where the PSI and Tyre Temperature should have been For all four tyres. It corrected itself only after the car was turned off and left overnight and then driving the car the next morning. The error went away about 60 seconds after driving away – sure beats going to the dealer. Idling the car earlier did nothing...
Has anyone had issues with there being no power to the roof plugs (ext2/3) switches? There’s nothing there with appropriate switches on and lights plugged or via a multimeter. Thanks In anticipation!
I picked up my Grenadier about 3 weeks ago. It is a MY2024 and I'm in NA. For some odd reason, the MY2024 doesn't have standard WIRED Android Auto and only has wireless. I have a few Android devices ranging from Samsung to Pixels and none are older than a generation back. My Pixel 8 Pro is my daily driver and I'm used to the normal process of connecting via Wired initially which then automatically pairs it wirelessly which had worked flawlessly with my Defender. Well for the Grenadier you...
