I'm bit unsure why but my order doesn't have the towing hitch. I'm pretty shocked by that I must have accidentally not selected it when running other options. Anyone do the same and add one after the fact? I guess so long as the framing is there it's not that hard. Just wire a harness into the rear tail lights.
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get a sense of how the Ineos actually tows and what the actual payload is like. We're planning on picking up a 32 foot, 6,100 lb dry weight (7,700 GVM) travel trailer and dragging it from Colorado up to Oregon. I'm hoping the Ineos will be able to handle this, if not I'll have to garage the Ineos and lease a 250 or SD for a few years. Luckily we'll be avoiding the mountain passes and heading up through Wyoming, so maybe that'll make it easier?
@FlyingTexan @Lord Ripon USA Strange but I'm pretty certain I checked the "hitch" option but when it arrived at the dealer there was no hitch. All our trucks have hitches, what I thought was my order summary has the hitch checked off. Dealer says it can be added for $1000 (800 parts and 200 for labor). Has anybody determined if the wiring is there and its as simple as adding a part or does the car need to be reprogramed (ie: I don't have a choice but to let the dealer install).

Hi there based in the UK with a 'used' ex-demo car. 2023 model, 4k miles. Station wagon, petrol. Loving it. Doesn't have a towbar. Problem is obtaining & purchasing the chassis mount adapter between the chassis & ball. Tried the supplying & local dealer both say made requests to Ineos for the part without success thus far. 4 weeks now. Can anybody assist with original part or even aftermarket part? Shouldn't be difficult, bit of bent metal & 4...
I've noted that some people have had issues with other tow hitch tongues not fitting the Grenadier receiver. I have a collection of tongues and was rather surprised that only 3 of the 4 fitted the rear receiver while all fitted the front one. One tongue (hayman reece) was able to partially slide into the rear receiver indicating that the receiver tapers ever so slightly inward. Getting out the calipers I found that grenadier rear receiver is 51.45mm square and the front one 52mm. This...
What options are available in the UK for a removable front mounted tow hitch and removeable front mounted winch? I've seen some aftermarket options online but wondered if any are suitable for use in the UK given different regulations?
I will be mounting the towing receiver to my truck and would like to know the correct torque spec for the four bolts that mount it to the truck…
Thread '2” hitch + Ball&Pin'
Fellow owners, does anyone know if there is a dropper plate that can fix to the OE Ineos 6 bolt US hitch, with a cutout for the US hitch. Would like to use US hitch as well as English tow balls without having to unbolt the english tow ball each time. Could have fabricated, but though I would ask. Have googled to no avail. Rgds M
Thread '2” hitch receiver installation'
I just picked up my Grenadier this week. I did not order the towing package - I’m not looking to tow, but I do need to get a standard receiver installed for a 2” Thule 2-bike rack (it releases and pivots down and out of the way, and I HOPE will clear the spare wheel when in the up position). My dealer says they can’t find that part in the Grenadier catalogue (just a standard receiver sleeve on a base plate). I can see exactly where it would need to be installed. Anyone have any...
Thread 'Non-OEM Tow Adaptor / Mount / Bar'
I unfortunately didn't order the tow hitch as a factor mount and need the female portion of one for my bike rack. Is anyone else in a similar situation? I'm planning to manufacture a hitch and would be happy to make a couple, if there is interest.
Thread 'Tongue Weight USA book vs hitch labels.'
In the handbook it is listed as 771 lbs (350KG) but there is a label on the underside of the hitch plate that states ~600 (273KG). Given the GVW and GTW are both 3500 KG (7716 lbs), using the rule of thumb of 10-15% you'd expect the TW to be at least the value in the book. For clarity this is the factory installed hitch. lbs (273KG). Has anyone decided if the book post dates the sticker or if the sticker is correct?
Thread 'Standard Australian hitch spigot diameter'
I have learned that the hole for the spigot in my tow hitch is 1 inch diameter rather than 7/8 inch. Not a major issue but it means sourcing a USA 1 inch spigot version of the DO35 hitch that I will be fitting. The caravan supplier says they aren’t authorised to do this however I can buy one as an individual and swap it. Seems crazy but there you go. I revisited my vehicle specification and it states 7/8 inch which is apparently the Aus standard size, as opposed to 1 inch which is USA...
I did not get my truck delivered with the tow pack installed which is unfortunate but was able to get the received from the dealer. I would like to add a simple 7pin/4pin combo unit to the blank hole under the bumper but need help with the wiring. I was planning on using a powered or non-powered universal kit as all I really plan on towing is a light weight folding garden trailer with LED lights. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Does anyone pull approximately a 2800 pound camper with their grenadier? If so what kind of mpg are you getting? I plan on pulling a camper across some remote areas and need to ensure i can get from Point a to point b on a single tank. Thanks
Thread 'ADAS'
I see all the latest versions of the Grenadier in the U.K. now come with Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS). I’m pleased I got one of the early Grenadiers as I wouldn’t want all that extra assistance and complicated electronics
Thread 'Cruise control cutoff and Crabbing (Axle adjustment procedure)'
My crabbing issue has been solved. it turns out I had a positive thrust angle. Interestingly enough though, they utilized an axle adjustment procedure for the cruise control to fix it. If youre having cruise cutout issues (I did) maybe your alignment is out also. It could be something to look at. At any rate, heres the Cruise "fix it" procedure. Mine did not cut out on a 5 hr drive, which it always did a couple times, so maybe it works. It did fix the crabbing issue.
Just FYI. My car (VIN 7719) does not have Torx bolts on the door sills (drivers and passenger doors checked so far), but hex head bolts. I know earlier cars had Torx bolts. INEOS are still using Torx elsewhere, like the bonnet opening lever and the second bolt/screw under the lever and in the battery box.
Thread 'Rusty Front Bumper'
Hi Guys Im starting to get a lot of rust on my front bumper - no beach driving and no salt on the road here in Queensland - I do wash the car from time to time but surely not enough to make it RUST! Im suspect when they attached the bull bar' (factory bar by the way) they drilled holes though the steel and didn't recoat the fresh exposed steel or even spray an bit of cold gal on. OR a bigger issue - not sue yet - it will be the subject of a warranty claim I'm sure - but something to...
