Its been a bit on the cold side here. Twice ive started up (after sitting outside in very cold temps -- ~5' F for a number of hours) and after a few mins, along with the overdue service message i seen a blue <Restart engine> message. First time i saw it and complied. Second time i was on the road before i saw it and finished the 15min drive. Petrol engine. Related to the cold? Any ideas why?
Which diesel engine oil level indication is correct, the dipstick or the electronic indicator. My dipstick indicates the full level but the electronic in vehicle test says 500ml is needed.
Hi guys, I'm looking for a safe xtract x-lock but they aren't available in Germany or, as far as I can see, in the UK either. The guys in Australia have organized a group purchase. I don't know what happened to it. I would be very interested. Unfortunately, I probably won't be coming to the US any time soon. I'm looking for the https://www.safe-xtract.com/product/safe-xtract-sx-20000h-x-lock-vehicle-recovery-hardware-rated-for-up-to-20000-lbs/ . Any ideas? Thx Barney
Thread 'Ski rack - spare tire mount'
So I’ve been messing around trying to come up with the best option for a ski rack. I got the Rhino-Rack crossbars and came up with a better mounting bracket solution so the LED light was in front of the bar, I could move it back to the B pillar, and still mount the ski rack above the bar. It’s not a perfect solution, but OK. Then I had a religious epiphany and realized I hate the wind noise from the cross-bars, and will probably never use the LED bar in my life - there are way better camp...
Thread 'Please check your wheel arch liner bolts'
Noticed today that a couple of bolts holding on the rear wheel arch liner had dropped out and a third was very loose and about to try and find its friends. Put a temporary fix in place until I get some replacements. I went round the car and the others were not loose, but they weren’t tight either, so I nipped them up. Mights be worth checking yours
Hi All Just picked this up from Facebook I take it via the cruse control buttons . "Great day today at the Glanusk test drive proper off-road course, this time a lot of the overhead panel buttons worked as well as the diff locks, hill descent was a a eye opener as not seen it fitted with speed altering button before allowing you to increase or decrease descent speed." "No it is the left hand button on the wheel, very intuitive and so effective"
Plugged my trailer in and all the lights work except for the brake lights. Trailer is traditional in terms of all filament lamps and has been towed by a few other makes of car with no issues whatsoever. My Grenadier throws up a brake light warning, and brake lights on trailer do not work. Have had 3 other Grenadiers round and they all do exactly the same. I have tried my mates much older BJ trailer on my Grenadier and the brake lights will not work on that either. Does anyone else have...
I was watching YouTube and came across a windshield protection for Jeeps and Broncos. The idea is there are three layers and every 6 months you rip a layer off similar to what off road drivers do on helmet visor shields. I reached out to them to see if they would make one for the Grenadier. Here is there response. Thanks for reaching out to us and your interest in the Windshield Defense product for the ineos. It's currently in beta testing as we speak. https://racingopticsjeep.com/...
Good evening All, Just curious, having never had a vehicle with wading more, just wanted to know people’s tips for when/where/depth you should engage wading mode? Tonight went through around 600mm of water and during the wading, my wife asked about the wading mode. TIA
There has been speculation in a number of threads as to whether or not the diffs can be locked on the move. This video appears to provide a definitive answer. View: https://youtu.be/bfy5SAIkiC0
Thread 'Rust (rust on wheel centres/axle ends)'
Hi, similar to the electrical gremlins (all to date superficial[?]) there seem to be some common issues on the newly collected vehicles with surface rust on wheel centres/axle ends. My car (a sub 1000 VIN) is suffering from a mild dose of this - see below front wheel lh Rear wheel lh. Note it is as if the metal on centre element this side has been treated in some way ie it has a dark finish much like the front face and no/less visible surface rust? Note also rust to end of wheel bolts...
Has anyone re-geared the transmission after increasing tire size? I have upgraded my tires from 265 to 285 and i was wondering if i should re-gear or not.
I'm looking at buying an off road trailer with landcruiser hubs. Does anyone know if these hubs are compatible with the Grenadier wheels? Looking to use the trailer spare as an extra spare for the Grenadier
Thread 'Brake Disks - Mimimum Thickness'
So the edge of the disks have the service minimum stamped at 10mm: And I measured a "new" one (under 500 miles) at @12.1mm:
Hello Grenadier drivers, I am one of the Grenadier owners who does not have a tow bar but would really like to have one. My car dealer cannot say when Ineos will have a wiring solution for this. After waiting for six months, I'm fed up with it now and want to have a solution (wiring kit) developed by a specialist company using the existing wiring as much as possible. This must be possible. I'm curious to know how many Grenadier drivers might be interested in a tow bar wiring kit. Can you...
Am I right to assume that fitting a bike rack with plugged in electrics will make the vehicle think it is pulling a trailer? If so, that would change the towing stability control settings.
Any recommendations on installing a tow hitch with wiring harness? Where to buy? In Wisconsin 🇺🇸
Couldn't find the thread on towing from way back, but wanted to share my experience. Picked up a used Ranger 621 in Tri Cities Wa. Towed her back to PDX/Vancouver at 65MPH. Was shocked how well Kunte1 did pulling a 5800GVW tandom axle trailer. Now to find hungry fish :) MPG Was still better than the old 2007 G500 :)
I want to know anyone's experience towing an offroad caravan with a lifted Grenny and any tips E.G hitch, airbags in the rear all that info picture would be sick too Cheers
Hi, This subject has been fairly thrashed to date but couldn't locate a definitive answer on a couple of points so here goes. I'm looking at options to drop the height of the towball/ jaw and pin when required. There is the Dixon Bale Adjustable plate (340mm overall) that can be mounted. But is the an alternative that is available, and okay to use in Britain, utilising the receiver that gives a similar range? The drop plate option serves a purpose but the removable receiver option would...
