Came across an obviously planned change in EU for driving license type B today, which is restricted to 3,5t unil now. Apparently, there shall be a change that allows license type B holders to drive vehicles up to 4,25t from some point in 2023. So I had this thought: Since we all know that the Grenadier has, finally, become a heavy, or perhaps more correctly, very strong and sturdy vehicle, I was wondering if it would be possible to spec up the GVM of the Gren with no or marginal technical...
Thread 'Steering'
FYI (For Your Information)  If I remember well this Bosh component is part of the steering system, I am not a car mechanics, you can correct me:
Newbie of forum, I searched for the following question, finding just only similat threads. Watching a quantity of Youtube video on the Grenadier, I found almost always the cliché that the steering is fuzzy with a considerable play (it's funny that in Italian "steering play" is absolutely identical: gioco di sterzo). Many of you have already and reasonably stated that the majority of the youtuber/journalists tester com from roadcar testing, so I ask if one of the forum member with an...
Does anyone know what the distance between the wheel flanges is? I could possibly calculate this knowing the wheel track and the wheel offset... I'm trying to size up a trailer axle to match the grenadier wheel track... If anyone has seen any detailed drawings I'd appreciate a link.. Cheers!
Thread 'Soft Elements Underside'
Just looking at the Production model from the Spanish video front springs area: the braid will be ok generally, but to me is there a few soft plastic runs here... are we thinking these will remain save for the life of the vehicle? I am thinking small branches/limbs and large gibbers coming up from rougher terrain with direct LOS from ground to impact zones. Am I just overthinking.
Thread 'Front End Leveling kit'
I would like to level the vehicle, is there any kits out there yet? It looks so much better when on level. I understand this is not an option if you are loading a lot of weight all the time. ?
Thread 'Coil Springs (specs v build)'
We've been told so many different stories on how many different spring types/rates there are and whether if you have a winch the front springs are uprated/upgraded, etc; so here's the ID on mine. Please add your own, with spec, and we can work out all the permutations. Vehicle: UK spec, N1, RHD, 5 seat, diesel, no winch: Have I missed anything? Front: EI-0000019546 (2 green circles) Rear: EI-0000021752 (2 blue triangles)
Thread 'Power Steering Fluid (that German green stuff)'
So, I'd commented on another thread that my power steering fluid was just below minimum, I'd been at my agent's and mentioned it whilst it was in for other things. It came back out again with no more fluid in it than it had gone it with as they didn't have any in stock - it was not what I'd call normal red ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid); but rather what was referred to at the time as "that German green stuff". On closer inspection of the power steering reservoir, it has "CHF Oil...
Thread 'Steering Column Universal Joint Rubber Boot'
Initially raised as a query in this thread, as to whether this looked right: https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/unacceptable-build-quality-issues-on-delivery.12411912/ I discussed with my dealer, and they moved the lower part of the boot to completely cover universal joint and clamping mechanism (the silver metal part). There was some thought of what would happen to the boot in this position, whether it would stay or even be torn. I can now reported after a 100 plus miles more the...
Thread 'Suspension spring upgrade'
I am having a internal debate on ordering the winch, part me is saying yes while other is like patience grasshopper. Anyways, I was on FB and came across this picture. The same matte green grenadier doing is now adding eibach prototype springs. Looks like 35 can fit. I think I will hold off on winch and see how this develops.
Thread 'LHD Steering damper pics'
Can some one in a Left hand drive country confirm if your production model Grenadier steering damper looks like this
Hello everyone;) I was finally able to pick up my grenadier yesterday🥳 Unfortunately, I noticed at home that my power steering makes a strange noise. I think it's not a normal noise, or? The filling level in the container was at maximum with the engine warm but switched off. The German instructions do not say exactly in which condition the oil should be checked. Does anyone have an idea? I tried to post a video but I always see the file is too big (7mb) Thank you;)

I can’t see any other reference to a palpable but inaudible clunk when turning the steering wheel (except I announced it in the Infotainment thread). Most surprised that no one else has mentioned it. From an occasional clunk on a bendy road to twelve consecutive clunks in 20 metres doing a full lock left, full lock right manoeuvre. Found the cause today. Up on the ramp… Sadly videos too large to upload What we saw was the drag link suddenly rotating sometimes 15° sometimes 30° depending...
Since the vehicle has power steering, and I assume it was designed to be robust, why could they have just changed the gearing to, say, three turns lock to lock and depended on the power steering's assistance to keep the steering effort reasonable? I am not a steering gear designer (and don't play one one tv as the old ad said), with the many complaints about the number of turns, why could that not be a solution for future builds?
There have been some discussion on min turn radius being "too much". On my US 03 discovery, there are bolt type stops that limit the angle the wheel can turn. This is to reduce chance of roll-over. I shortened these stops and reduced the turn radius quite a lot. I wonder if the Grenadier has similar stops that can be modified?
I have tried to find answers on the forum but have not found that this topic has been covered. I read then of someone has offset steering. Mine is too, a few degrees to the left. Has anyone gotten a solution from Ineos yet? Thank you very much
