Hi all, we all know the discussions about the steering feel and turning circle. But this is not what this post is about. I have an information to share and would like to hear your comments. When I picked up my Trialmaster at the dealership they showed my the following "trick" (I don't know if it really is one)... - You turn your steering wheel to one stop (left or right, does not matter): your info screen will display your steering angle, in my case 33° - then you grab the wheel tightly...
I keep hearing, since I don't have mine yet, about the turning radius. It's also something that I noticed with my 4Runner- also not a good radius. But the other day I was in a 2015 Tahoe and it has a great radius- that is until you take it out of 2wd and put it into 4wd. I've noticed something similar in my Wrangler- the closer to a 'full' 4wd setting, the less manouvaerable. Now I know 4wd cars/SUV that are really AWD always pretty much have a good radius. But Isn't comparing the IG...
Pretty interesting about the install of the springs and tires. I was surprised how diffucult it was to change springs- a lot of stuff to potentially jack up. Looks like they are doing a bunch of mods, I'd like to see what the total height is on this mod. This is what I was thinking of doing.
Expedition HQ has piqued my interest of late. It looks like they have developed a 10% GVM 3800kg (not GCM) upgrade kit using 35mm lifted Eibach springs with either Koni or Kings shock absorbers. For Australian owners and buyers the kit currently only appears to be available plated in QLD and NSW. 10% GVM upgrades are generally the easiest to be certified in QLD with only changes to the springs and shocks for most live axle vehicles however at the increased GVM there is an equal decrease...
I will be selling my 2005 Defender 110 to help fund my purchase of the Grenadier Quartermaster. I have recently put Koni Raid 90's 2" lift shocks on the Defender. Great shocks, and would use them again. Does anyone know the length of the shocks on the Grenadier? If similar, might be worth exchanging my Koni's with OEM shocks, and using these for the new ute.
I guess a roof rack, lift and tires together are a no-go. Lift and tires probably not, and I’m not even sure if I can get bigger tires… I did get the towing, but not the front winch- if that makes a difference. DIdn’t realize how close I was even on the stock reported height of 80.7 inches. Coming from a Tahoe, I didn’t think I’d have any issues. Glad I haven’t pre-ordered a lift, tires and rack.. Really wanted slightly bigger tires, but will I need a lift too? Frick, this thing is...
Anyone have any color on this? View: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C39WIYMIVby/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet
Have been getting the "power steering error" message randomly for a few days. All the other threads end up in recall, or TSB nonsense that doesnt explain the error. Does anyone know what causes this? Nothing shows up on an OBD scanner.
The springs dilemma: Stock springs work best with an empty car. When the car is fully loaded and fitted for adventure it sits deep in the springs. Clearance under the car suffer. Not ideal. With harder springs it is the other way around. An empty car is like a springbok on the road. Some pickup trucks have air assisted suspension to compensate for this dilemma. I have only seen it on cars with leaf springs. There you have enough room to stuff air bellows between frame and axle. Are there...
Thread 'Dobinson 2" Spring lift with Remote Res Shocks and front Winch bar Spotted'
Interesting update 2" Dobinson's Springs and remote res shocks spotted on the DMW Grenadier
Really appreciate if anyone has the measurement that can share with me for the stock shocks, eye to eye, front to rear, extension and compression.
Hi I am wanting to remove the 'tub' from Quartermaster and put a bespoke tray so the tray floor is as low as possible ie as close to (above) the rear tyre as possible . I note that the distance between the top of the tyre and underneath of the mudguard is 240mm but I think that space is not designed/determined by suspension but for body clearance and looks, and I hope I can go with a lower vehicle to tyre clearance. Does anyone know the maximum designed travel of the rear suspension? So from...
I got an offer OME Springs, Heavy Duty for + 250kg permanent load in the back, +35mm Lift. Has anyone Information about driving comfort? Are OME Springs a top quality Brand?
Drove 100 miles home from the dealer with my wife and didn't have any issues. Went to dinner and drove on the highway for about 15 minutes and the front passengers didn't notice anything, but the rear seat passengers said the ride was bumpy and buzzy- very uncomfortable. It doesn't do at up to 45mph on side roads. Going to take it out tomorrow and see if I can tell what the passengers felt. Any thoughts? The back passengers have been on that road countless times in all kinds of vehicles...
Does anyone know who manufactures the shock absorbers for the Grenadier Station Wagon?
I am going to install the taller Eibach lift springs — 2.5” front and 1.5” rear. I’ve seen this lift on another truck locally. It levels the suspension, which I don’t like, especially since it’ll squat when I load up the rig. I want to find some 1.0” spring spacers for the rear coils. Anyone have any idea what — if any — spacers from another vehicle might work? I know Jeep, 4Runner, Defender, G-Wagen, and Land Cruiser all have someone distinct spacers. I am curious if anyone has any...
Has anyone seen the YouTube video from Agile Off-road on their custom Fox steering stabilizer bar for the Grenadier? Have you tried it out? If so, what do you think? Also related - if you had it installed, do you know if it voids the warranty?
Hello, I am considering Eibach 2.5 springs or the Reiger/KW coilovers . Does anyone on the forum have experience with Reiger/KW? I know Le Tech, and now Adrenalin Vans/HQ here in the US are selling them. I like the idea of adjustability, but I don't want have to rebuild shocks often. Also, I love the Owl Talon wheels, but I am concerned about the second valve stem. I have seen valve stems ripped of by rocks on the trail. Am I over thinking this or does the wheel design help prevent it...
Thread 'Suspensions sport sus mesure'
Bonjour, ci joint la photo de la fabrication de suspensions sur mesure. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=876552471151799&set=a.473248104815573
We rejected our Grenadier after the vehicle was deemed unroadworthy 19/12/23 and received refund less £0.76/mile 11/4/24 having been VOR for nearly 4 months. Water ingress is one minor issue. Steering geometry design is up the spout. And unable to resolve to be safe within Ineos stated tolerances. No after sales interaction. No solution after 4 months is a complete joke. There is a gagging order on all members of the press internationally and people gifted with the use of one of...
