Anyone with some miles on want to fill me in on this? It still matters, especially with premium. I just did a 3k mile round trip to go off roading in my discovery with the TD6 and I don't expect the grenadier to match the 23mpg going 80-85mph to get there but I'm really hoping it's not the 14mpg.

91 Octane recommended. Seems like Premium to me. 87 is minimum octane and some states call that premium!
IMO 91 is much more premium than not. Having owned too many vehicles that required premium, I became a Sunoco fan. When they had 94 I ran it but they dropped that and max at 93.

Yea the US can be a little wonky on it's fuels and what Octane in Texas means vs Germany. But lets get back on track here I really want to know in US MPG what this petrol is doing.

I got about 18 highway in my Raptor and about 12 in my 92 FJ80 so I’m prepared for the latter but am hoping for the former.

@emax has that stat thing and it says 18.6 US MPG. but he has a diesel. That doesn’t bode too well.

i dont understand you
He has a gas motor (B58); it is not yet fully broken in (so it would make sense the fuel economy would improve slightly later); for 200 miles of interstate driving he averaged 26 imperial MPG, or as @Krabby posted, roughly 21.65MPG US

I don't think I'm imagining this, but it may have been a claim made about the Grenadier design pre-prototype ...

Q: Is the B58 detuned or otherwise able to handle "regular" North American gas? i.e. "87" at the pump, which is ubiquitous. It would certainly be in keeping with the unfussy, works-wherever ethos the Grenadier began with.

So we still can’t really get anything answered? We’ve got 21.25 and 15mpg. Need a little more consistency

A bit too early for consistency but I would guess if you looked somewhere between best and worse figures I have seen, you would end up around 15 / 16 US MPG
