Seat Covers - Melville and Moon

As some of you who have been here for a while will no doubt have realised I have been droning on about the seat covers from Melville and Moon since the start.

They are the sand coloured canvas ones used in the Ineos video in South Africa when Eluid Kipchoge drove it.

Anyway I have spoken to Steffi who runs the UK side of things and she has informed me that they have the patterns and have already got stock in sand and the grey duck canvas covers.

£440 for the fronts and £660 for the full set Inc. VAT and delivery.

These are aren’t cheap but are quality and will last years. (Edited as per Krabby’s suggestion )

@Shaky What's wrong with the optional seat covers available on the Ineos configurator? They're substantually cheaper, passed Ineos' quality and durability standards and have a full 3 year warranty.

I’ve only seen one photo of them and that was enough to drop them until I can eyeball them in the flesh. They looked cheap and ill fitting to me, enough so not to take the gamble til I’ve seen them.

To answer some of the questions.

I don’t know about air bag compatibility with the M&M covers, but a good point that would need answering.

I ordered the Official IG ones, which I wouldn’t say are substantially cheaper the M&M ones, if you only order the fronts you could argue that they are ( £400 ) but if you order a full set (front and back), they actually stack up to a fairly similar price. £660)

When I saw the official ones in the flesh, I also deleted them immediately from my extras list when I got home. My opinion only but I certainly didn’t think they were worth the £550+.

I have a set similar to the official ones on my Amarok and they were made to measure and a better fit for £85 for a full set !!

Do I think the M&M ones are worth the extra £585 over the ones I bought off eBay….most certainly not BUT I love how they look and they seem to fit great on every vehicle I have seen them on and I would hazard a guess they will last for well over ten years at the rate of abuse I will give them, so all in all I am willing to pay the money.

Also if I sell the vehicle the seat covers will come off and be sold separately, as they seem to hold their value quite well.

One other thing, the seat covers come wrapped in an M&M branded bag which is also a spare wheel cover for the back.

Unless the production versions are more to fit I agree with others in looking for alternatives. While I am considering the Katskinz AC conversion, if I do not my seats (leather or fabric) will be covered - especially the back seat.

They are; but whether they are the same or completely different to any a customer might receive is the question.

Some could argue that IA didn’t use their own seat covers in their own promotional video but instead chose to use these instead.

It’s each to their own and I know they are doing the charcoal version in the same canvas but to me these look the dogs danglies

No buddy. They are the M&M covers. Duck canvas in sand colour.

Thanks they are very nice. I’ll cancel my seat covers and wait till I see them in the flesh before ordering. May go for M&M though
