5 Year Trip in a Grenadier Across the World towing a Patriot X3 Which We Live In.

We have been learning from your experiences documented on YouTube.
We are getting sorted and are trying to define what tools to take on our international trip. We will take our Trialmaster and not bring a trailer.
What should we include in a basic tool roll -
If space allows what should be added -
It goes without saying that the Ineos on-line service info is very valuable.
Thanks,
PS your kids will have many memories and experiences
I’m pretty sure there’s a few comprehensive threads on here about what to bring on a trip like this. Perhaps someone can post the link or you can have a search. I remember having a quick skim a while back and they’d covered pretty much all of it. It would take me a while to write it all out that’s all. I don’t want to be unhelpful, just got a fair bit on at the moment, hope you can understand. 🙏

In summary - We were in a rush when we left and so have a little more than is ideal. We have a comprehensive tool kit, (with backups for important things like torx etc), and a lot of the basics for field repairs and maintenance, apart from a scanner. There now seems to be a scanner available that does the job and so that’s next on the list for us. https://globeguard.ch/en/home-en/ I need to do a bit more research into this though.

In terms of spares, it’s a hard one as we’re just one data point. We’re watching everything that’s happening with Grenadiers across the world and keeping on top of things the best we can. We did ask INEOS before we left about what they’d learned during testing as we thought that would be rather useful, but of course they didn’t divulge anything. In the end we just had to roll with it. The sacrificial lamb, unofficially part of the INEOS R and D team, on our own dime. 😅

Small, light things that are likely to go or be required for servicing, (use people’s write ups, reviews and experience to make those decisions) definitely bring with them you, it will save you a lot of time, hassle and costs regarding international shipments.👍

Honest feedback. My wife and I watched the first few episodes then couldn't stand your wife going off on eco/political/life rants. What makes it worse is your wife is young with a lot to learn, we couldn't look past this and it was enough for us to stop watching. Shame as the content and journey was really good. We might try again at some point and hopefully these rants stopped. This isn't intended as criticism, it's honest feedback.
Thanks so much for your kind and thoughtful “honest feedback”. We understand the videos are not everyone’s cup of tea, but you can always skip, or just not watch. You’re never going to please everyone regardless of what you do, we accepted that a long time ago. Saying that, we’re always learning and listening to well intentioned feedback, and looking to improve with every video.

We’re ultimately trying our best as a family on the road, living in the wild and balancing everything else we have to think about. The vast majority of people understand that and appreciate coming along for the ride. For those that don’t, there’s plenty of other things you can do to occupy your time.

My wife is 40, she’ll appreciate your compliment regarding her age, I’ll pass it on.

We all have a lot to learn... 😉

From the Patriot Campers side. Next level customer service.

Yup! They really stepped up, along with everyone on here, when we really needed it. We’re extremely grateful for yours and their support. It’s still quite overwhelming to think about to be honest. A real community effort. 💪😊 🇦🇺 🌍 🍻 🙏

Matt & his family are inspiring many people, learning a lot and making small differences in the world - possibly some of which will snowball.
Unlike the people sitting on the couch.
Keep up the stunning travels, videography and messages.
Appreciate this! We’re trying our best. 👍🌍

@Farmer
May I suggest you spend some time on https://projectwildearth.com/ to understand the actual purpose of this family's journey. It is not foremost produced for entertainment purposes. There is a strong social message to Matt and Leah's work. Perhaps you missed that in Leah's introduction to every episode so you have different expectations.

The broad consensus of this forum is that Matt and Leah are doing an amazing job. Many forum members are invested in their success; literally and figuratively, and look forward to each new episode.
Thanks so much for the continued support. It means a lot. 🍻

Nice reply. Respect.

Nice. That’s a day i love.

Your friend may want a locker, and a bubba rope.
His rear locker wasn’t operational at the time unfortunately but they still really wanted to come. Teamwork makes the dream work as they say… 😉

I'm a total sucker for a turquoise lake, gravel beach, wildflowers and a forest with nearby mountains!
And mud is mud. Wasn't a problem when I was a kid , and as an adult - if you play in mud you , might get muddy!
Well done for making it through in the Mighy Grenadier 💪
