Third party sealed snorkels for the IG and QM

Invoice total with shipping was €1522 and then tariff was $700.
Hopefully someone stateside can come up with a less cost prohibitive option. The stock unit is far from being robust. I can’t imagine that thing is built for the long haul.

I replaced the stock unit because it kept popping out at the base despite the screws being tight. The D&G is secured with four M5x16 bolts at the flange.

I have the same issue with mine basically falling out of position. I decided to go the GrenX route, still trying to get around to installing the thing.

@grnamin which series Sy-Klone pre-cleaner did you go with?

I have a 9005 series (5” flange diameter) for sale if someone else is considering going this route?

I have the 9005, too.

I came across this post on Facebook. It appears Safari Engineering are planning on producing a Snorkel and have a survey running for what type.

Wow, they maybe changing their mind. They sent me packing back in 2023, when I asked.

I went with a GrenX sealed snorkel and airbox and glad I did.

Speaking of GrenX - We’ve just gotten our replacement inlet and air filter from Rohan so we’re finally ready for the sealed airbox install later this week.

VICTORY! Our GrenX snorkel and sealed airbox system is now complete. Per earlier discussions we’ve opted for a Donaldson PowerCore G2 pod filter and it works wonderfully in our Petrol Grenadier ( no MAF issues / codes thrown etc. ). Definitely recommended.

The fit is insanely tight and a total PITA but it works.

I’ll probably adjust the heat shielding a bit more tomorrow…

I had the same issue. I could see there was tension on the RAI. I unbolted my RAI from the A-pillar brackets and then held it tight against the quarter panel. This created a 5-6mm gap between RAI and A-pillar brackets. So I made some spacers out of aluminium flat bar., and bought some 5mm longer bolts. The problem is now solved, even when travelling on the highway with my Syklone installed.

Brilliant. I am going to do this with 1/4" ABS plastic for a more stealth black finish.

I emailed Safari Engineering, the screen shot attached is there reply.
A little progress, but still no commitment, but thanks for the effort and update.

TLR Products put up the INEOS name on their website early last year, still no products so I rarely look now, because they are not serious.

If the Safari Snorkel comes all good, but it will take sometime or it may never come. I gave up on them back in 2023, sorry to sound so underwhelmed. It will only be a snorkel not a snorkel and airbox (which will be fine for most owners).

GrenX remains the only option now, at least they have 3 choices. Granted not cheap, but neither is a new motor.

The Red winch wasn't cheap either. but if these things save your carefully personalised vehicle, the cost is wearable if you keep it long term.

I would be tempted if there was no duty, VAT and VAT on duty to pay on top. That unfort makes it very expensive. Still hoping Tazzie comes back over to UK with very large suitcase bearing Aussie gifts.
