When I was under the car today, I could not work out how to remove the fuel hoses, there must be some trick. I asked the Service Manager for INEOS' instructions. Thanks for your hard work @TheDocAUS !
Memo for off-road tool kit: include two water/fuel/brake hose clamps to enable fuel filter change....![]()
I will be asking for a written work instruction for this and replacing the serpentine belt when I take the car in next week to get some little warranty issues attended to. Bought the filter and Serpentine belt a couple for the spares kit, the day I got the car. When I was under the car today, I could not work out how to remove the fuel hoses, there must be some trick. The Service Manager did get under the car and take me through the steps. Thank you Nathan at Purnell Adventure.
FUEL FILTER GUARD UNDER DEVELOPMENTThis is a picture of the rear fuel filter on the INEOS Australian spec diesel motor. EDIT: the diesel fuel water separator is standard in some countries and optional in others. When choosing a diesel motor if the option costs $0 dollars it is standard, if you have to pay it is optional. A little smaller than a Prevent 200 oil catch can (size comparison only). The type of plastic used was very similar to the material used in the Provent 200 Oil Catch Can.
The fuel in line and fuel out line are at the top of the filter and you cannot see them clearly in this image. It is hard place to get a decent photo.
The plug on the bottom is a AMPSEAL plug. I will tape up those exposed wires near the bottom of the image on the AMPSEAL plug. The ladder frame was red, the car was black.
Fuel filter located near rear wheel arch, passenger side (RHD car). You can only see it by getting under the car. You cannot see it by looking into the wheel arch over the tyre.
I could see any third party brand name on the filter case, but I could only see part of the case. White label has INEOS' name on it.

Second fuel filter location
Thanks to @DenisM we have the location of the second fuel filter: "Slightly to the rear of the mid-line of the rear LHS passenger door. It's a cylinder -at a (very) rough guess about 50mm in diameter and about 120-150mm in length, retained in a white coloured plastic "saddle" clip which is screwed to a "vertical" surface... It's visible from the RHS although the view is partially restricted by a/the ?muffler."
Image here (thanks to @MarkH for the link). I am thinking a guard for that filter might be a good idea ( I have emailed KAON asking for one):

I’ve found the long cylindrical filter but I’m having a job find the one with the wires out the bottom. RHD vehicle. Would you be able to tell me where exactly this one is. It’s tough as I don’t have a ramp I’m having to slither under the vehicle up and down. CheersThe rear INEOS water/fuel separator is slowly giving up its secrets. What the INEOS Configurator describes as the Diesel water separator.
It uses a “paper filter” (probably a Cellulose/Synthetic Blend) with INEOS Part No: GRA-3E12-019770. It is made in China. INEOS is the only name appearing on the packaging and both labels.
There are two other numbers on the box 11 00 1007 0321TZ and EI-00000119533. I could find nothing searching on all three numbers. I was hoping to find the OEM manufacturer. Fail.
The underlying label says filter expiry October 2024, the filter was made on 17 October 2022.
The fuel filter looks like this (the filter is in a plastic wrapper):

It comes with an O-ring for the filter case.
I spoke to the Service Manager about how to change the filter, apparently you need to disconnect both sets of wires (top and bottom of the filter case), disconnect the fuel lines in and out of the top of the filter case. Then undo the two bolts and take the casing off and change the filter. No simple task.
I still cannot get a decent image of the filter case but you see the two bolts on the top left of picture. I think the filter cap maybe the bottom of the case (what you see in the image below).

If the second filter is fitted to your car, look on the passenger side rear, it is near the rear tyre and fuel tank. Just slide in near the rear passenger wheel and look up. It is not fitted in all countries. Australia and South Africa diesel models have it as standard.I’ve found the long cylindrical filter but I’m having a job find the one with the wires out the bottom.
