Apparently Quentin wilson is the author of the Grenadier story part of this book. I used to enjoy his no nonsense journalism on top gear way back when.

Grit, Vigor & Humour: The INEOS Story

"With an opening chapter by Sir Jim Ratcliffe

To mark the 25th Anniversary of the founding of INEOS in 1998, seven leading specialist authors explore the main strands of INEOS's business, including its core chemical business to its ventures into sport, automotive, consumer goods, sustainability, next generation and philanthropy.

* Dominic O'Connell on INEOS' core petrochemicals and energy business
* Patrick Barclay on INEOS's involvement in sport from the America's Cup to cycling, athletics to Formula 1 and football
* Quentin Willson on the building of the Grenadier from scratch in response to the demise of the Land Rover Defender
* Steph McGovern on INEOS' move into the consumer goods sector with brands such as Belstaff and INEOS Hygienics, so vital during the pandemic
* Sean Keach on INEOS' journey to Net Zero and sustainable investment
* Lord Sebastian Coe on the vital importance of exercise for the next generation, with a particular focus on INEOS's worldwide children's exercise initiative, 'The Daily Mile', and the 'Forgotten 40', the 40% of the UK's young who are affected by a lack of basic resources to remain fit and healthy
* Sir Andrew Likierman on INEOS' philanthropic projects and investments

Grit, Rigour & Humour offers an extraordinary and balanced insight into the rise of one of the world's most successful companies, which produces the essential building blocks used in most of the products you use daily from medical products and packaging to electronics and transport, and has expanded rapidly over the past decade into one with interests in many diverse walks of life."

It may be a good summer read while I wait for my Grenadier.

If we get an interesting enough idea together for a competition I'll buy a couple of copies to send out to the winners.

How about this, save your money Stu and place a link to buy the book. The competition could be a autograph version from Sir Jim.

Nice idea, but that would be out of my hands. My only suggestion is that you drive to the pub and stake it out until he comes in and hope that he feels sorry enough to give you a beer and a *book dedication.

* own copy of book and Bic biro required.

Quentin Wilson is quite the EV advocate now, so interesting to see what he will write on this.

Can I write about my Ineos story? The 2 year wait, the anticipation, the production delays, the joy pf receiving the vehicle - soon to be replaced by the dismay at the many, many software errors, the heater fault, the 6 weeks during which the dealer did foxtrot oscar to fix the root cause, the rejection of the vehicle - and the climax - buying a new Land Rover Defender. Oh the joy at having a fully working vehicle!
Could my story be included? It's a epic tale.

Can I write about my Ineos story?
The enthusiastic and generous dealership (Hollybrook NI).
The error free software(after update)
The joy of towing over three tonnes uphill at a ridiculous rate.
The heater that would put you out.
The ac that would freeze you.
The wonderful driving position, you look down on Range Rovers.
The delays at fuel stations/car parks/anywhere with folk wondering wtf is that.
The growl of the big diesel helping to make every drive an event.
I absolutely love my big Granny, sadly the only one I have left.

Every coin has two sides, not everybody’s comes up tails.

Agreed - but you're in Northern Ireland, so that would be 'tails'.
