The miles were spread out over many vehicles and they did not do nearly enough high speed driving over long distances which seems hasten the CV boot failure. But how many miles per vehicle ?
Would they have had any input you think in terms of the design and orientation of the TC to axle pitch of the front and rear shaft or does that buck stop with Magna or other? If not, I wonder whether they should have (or did) comment at the sub optimal angle of dangle of the front shaft? Guess will never know. The front and rear driveshafts.
Bingo. In the US we drive 80 MPH for hours or days on end. Most failures have involved mileage, and road failures. Mine was towing on a bouncy road. The miles were spread out over many vehicles and they did not do nearly enough high speed driving over long distances which seems hasten the CV boot failure.
And I have been having conversations with one of the highest placed IA staff in North America. They know and are trying to get a handle on what the failure rate really is. Likely they are doing the math to figure out how many will go pop during the warranty period.Dealers deny everything, always. Must be a requirement. IA is well aware as the lead engineer went into a fit of rage when I mentioned it and he kept screaming how Dana screwed them....yes they know they have a disaster.
Well, hopefully they get on it soon and not let the animosity keep building on this design flaw. And I have been having conversations with one of the highest placed IA staff in North America. I bet anything that truck does not have a front drive shaft attached!!!! lol Just like at SEMA
shots fired.....!What is it with those deep dish rims with racing slicks? I see them on so many trucks now and it looks ridiculous. Apparently that is the fault of New Zealand culture if I read that right?
