Thread 'Service Reminder - really irritating'
I have the latest software version - 1946. My gren will be due its first service at 12,000 miles. When my mileage hit 11,379, a reminder appeared on the headunit detailing Service in 621 miles. That's all very well, but what is particularly irritating is that the same Service in x miles message is now on a countdown each and every reducing mile, not just once in a mile but every 1/4 mile, so 4 times each mile. Having this flash in your peripheral vision on the headunit is so irritating -...
Thread 'Dual battery setup modifications'
Hi All, I have the factory dual battery setup and decided to make a few changes to the vehicle wiring to make it more useful. I wanted to have the following: Front and rear 12V outlets powered from second battery Rear USB outpets powered from second battery All aux power supplies (under bonnet, roof and footwell) powered from second battery Rear high power output (NATO socket) powered from second battery and switchable whenever needed (no neutral interlock etc.) Winch (transmission) still...
Thread 'CTEK Battery charger MXS 5.0'
I bought a CTEK Battery charger MXS 5.0 and tested it between yesterday afternoon and today. And I used my Chinese battery Monitoring II spy. I connected the CTEK to the “under hood” positive pole and earth connector. I have to admit my picture could have been better: I brought the current extension under the car, so that I could close the hood (bonnet) and lock my car. It rained this night, and my car is in the garden. I started the CTEK battery charger at 14h45 yesterday, at a moment...
Thread 'Victron Energy SmartShunt IP65 500 amp Battery Monitor (Bluetooth) install'
So following on from the various discussions on batteries, which does what, etc, and photos of various BMS and calculations chiefly @das mo, @Lollo050968, @emax & @Jean Mercier in: https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/battery-issue-car-dead-in-the-middle-of-the-woods.12412749/page-20#post-1333208886 but also: https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/victron-smartshunt-1000a-install.12411893/ I'd decided to fit one of these, It arrived today. Glad to see there's been no money wasted on the...
Am I correct that there is a power supply point under the bonnet with a switch on the overhead panel? Is so, where do I find it?
Being old and illiterate on the modern electrical systems and their sensitivities, can someone please advise if it is possible to have a wireless rear view camera that could display on the vehicle screen? I would prefer to use that rather than have to mount another screen somewhere. If it is possible, could those in the know, please advise how this is achieved?
Hi, I just realized that I do not have a 12V power outlet in the boot. There is just a hole with a plastic cap and a sticker (something with 3xx W). Anybody already installed a socket? Is it prewired and just the socket is missing? If I have to lay a cable, any advice how to remove the side panels? Any advice welcome:)
Hi. Can anyone shead any light on being able to switch off the DRL for every day use should we wish ? Id like to be able to switch off all external lights sometimes. Regards Pete
Thread 'The Dreaded 10 pin plug'
Just got this from Ineos [ Ticket: 102372 ] Missing pins Ineos Customer Service <customerservice@ineosgrenadier.com> To: 09/06/23 10:32 1 CASE REFERENCE: 102372 Hi I hope this email finds you well. I have sent over a request to our technical advisor in head office who have advised we are not missing any pins and this is standard. Should you require more technical help in regards to your Grenadier, as mentioned on our call. I would also speak to your dealership to see...
Can not find out how to adjust the volume of the PDC audio signal. Quite loud for me. Any hints?
This might be a little too technical yet, but I haven't seen any reference to it. Does anyone know if there will be a pigtail from the brake wire that will allow a quick connection to a trailer brake controller?
I am having issues with my AC. I've had the vehicle since March 2024. My issue is when the AC is activated and in cooling phase it does seem to work properly, all be it erratic, but when I want heat with AC on, for instance to demist windows in cold wet weather and keep cabin warm, all windows fog up. Fan runs at whatever speed I select however it seems the actual AC does not activate. This is the first vehicle where for some reason windows do not demist when AC is activated. I’ve taking...
On a trip in the mountains and my HVAC system is not working at all. No heat or air. No blower fan. Have tried the usuals turning off & on, turning key half way before starting to let things start. Nothing is working. Help appreciated as we need heat to keep the windows from freezing.
This is a review of the HAVC. I wrote a post a while ago that the HVAC was not working properly, but now that I look at it, I think it didn't work as I thought because the weather wasn't cold at that time. As a result, it literally works in "auto" mode is "auto". Korea is now entering winter, and I'll tell you the results of observing the IG's movements in several stages. <Status> 1. 7℃(20℉) or higher: Hot air does not come out at all toward the feet. About 80% of the back seat, 10% of...
Hi all, overall, the air conditioning in my Quatermaster Diesel worked quite well, apart from a few temperature fluctuations over the first 5,000 kilometres. Yesterday, however, we were driving with five people and four of us were too hot at 19°C selected and I had a strong, cold draught on my legs at higher car speeds on the front passenger seat. Back at home I looked for the cause and probably found it: there is a combined swichting flap/ channel for the recirculating underneath / behind...
OK, so I have had my Trialmaster for about a month 850miles. In N Florida. AC blew hard very hot 2 times. After shutting off it seemed to fix it’s self. A lot of vent baffle opening and closing noise as I played with the settings. This morning was a bit chilly in N Florida, 46 degrees, so I started it up and set high heat on auto. Was making very loud vent / baffle noise and not blowing out of the top vents just the floor it seemed. Shut the vehicle off restarted and just used the manual...
Yesterday I drove 250km to Grenadier and tested HVAC. As expected, automatic climate control is not working as I want. One strange thing is that when I turned off HVAC, outside air was coming in. If this is normal, to block outside air circulation, should I first turn on HVAC and then block outside air intake?
Thread 'HVAC controls and directed airflow'
So after a little investigation this morning, here is where the air goes on the different settings on my Grenadier HVAC controls. I'll take the trace air flow to be just where the damper flaps are leaking a little. I hope this helps some others try and work out how to operate the controls. The AC, temp control and recirculation should all work in all combinations of the above. With the auto function you just have control over the temperature, fan speed and air direction are controlled by...
My Grenadier shows signs of never directing air into the footwells, the dash vents and windscreen are fine, but selecting the footwells just gets a slight increase in noise and no extra air towards my feet. Now the weather is getting cooler, it is now an issue. (Both the dealer and I had hoped that the new software would fix it, but no such luck). I've spoken to the dealer and the vehicle is booked for some investigation in December, so does anyone have experience of this circumstance?
The 4 electrical points on the roof near the reels (for the ones with electrical option) are connected to spotlights in my car, I believe ext2/3 will switch all of them (Weird thing 1 switch puts 1 light on, the other switches all 3). I have a dual battery setup, and my electrician says that we cant connect these 4 points (and ext2/3 panel switches) directly to the second battery because he doesn't know where the black cable leads. I have zero experience in electricals but he tried to...
