I have the factory 17” alloys. I’m going to be doing a two day “short distance traveled” race across Liwa in the UAE next year. That means long distances at low pressures. I’ve run 15 PSI many, many times but probably for not more that 5 hrs and on much smaller dunes. I could go out and buy some bead lock wheels, but honestly, I’m trying to keep my budget sensible. I’m wondering if the bead depth on the stock tires will allow 10-12 psi for extended periods? I have a 2 1/2 inch lift on...
I know there are threads with tyre pressure issues, but I have just come across a weird problem. Yesterday after a 50 mile drive I was getting close to home, I decided to turn the temperature sub menu, in the off road setting. (It has been -8°C the previous couple of nights and still was below freezing.) I was curious to check the tyre temperatures. To my surprise my right rear was 25 psi, while the others were 36psi. But no warnings blinking. As I approach home it dropped to 24psi. But...
I hope the title is clear: I'm trying to figure out how to change my tires (e.g. annually) so that the spare tire is also changed and wear is distributed evenly across all tires. Do you have any suggestions, concepts, or ideas?
I have KO3s and Nokian LT3 snow tires on 17 inch steel OEM rims Ordered an Owl under passenger seat air compressor. Looking for a way to deflate and inflate the tires. It seems that some tires do better with a differential of Front/Back, so I was thinking about a hose set up that will fill two tires at a time from the front seat. I see there are electronic gauges- will they also automatically stop the flow of air at a certain pressure on filling? On deflating? Or get the value stems...
Thread 'TPMS programming for MX sensors with older AUTEL TS408/TS508 (pre-INEOS) guide'
1. Procure an AUTEL scanner. I got this beauty on eBay. I recommend a 408 or 508 without WiFi. (You don’t want it updated so it can still manually program). It had v1.09, so no Grenadier listed. 2. INEOS uses an older receiver made by continental/vdo. The protocol to match is 407006UA0A. 3. Set to Europe. (I looked through a bunch of old Nissans to find one that matches the protocol) Set to Renault Express 05/2021-12/2022 (433 MHz). 4. Read your sensors. 5. I manually set up...
Thread '275/65 on 18" stock alloys'
Upgraded my stock 18" alloys with 275/65 General Grabber AT³ and got them approved by German TÜV without any further adoptions / changes
Anyone have issues from shops not wanting to sell Falkan Wildpeak A/T 4W Snow Tires to put on their Grenadier? I got 4 tires installed (based on recommendations here) but most of the general tire shops wouldn't do the install because the tire is not XL rated. This happened to me with America's Tire last year. The speciality tire shop that did the install of my 4 snow tires said it was only off by a few pounds. I just got a flat in one of those tires (after getting them put back on a...
Thread 'Vredestein Pinza AT'
Anyone ever tried these? They look like a great AT for winter. I’ve had Vredestein Wintrac Xtremes in a few vehicles before and they’ve been excellent Your thoughts?
Got some spare steelies, and I asked the dealer for TPMS sensors. They told me $1546… $285.84 each. That should be $285 for a set of four, correct? Otherwise I can understand all the threads on alternatives. That’s more expensive than most steel rims.
I just put 275/70/18 K03 on my Quartermaster. Anyone know why tire pressure I should Ron on the front and back?
I have taken my spare wheel on and off a few times to facilitate putting a bike carrier on the hitch. No big deal, a couple of minutes work. That was until the head of the torx bolts rounded. The last time I barely got them off using a vice grips. To put them back on I welded on nuts . Id recommend checking that you can open yours, before you have to!!
I assume this is just a “of course it’ll work and this is kind of a dumb question” but I can’t figure out the answer and this is still all new to me. I am having my tires swapped from the stock KO2 to 33” KO3s this weekend (at discount tire - moving my KO2s to my kid’s Tacoma which is how I got my wife on board with new tires 🙄). I keep reading about what a pain the TPMS sensors are when changing wheels or rotating tires. My question is - since this is just a tire swap and I’m keeping...
Thoughts on swapping out the K02s for the Bridgestone All-Terrain tires? We do a lot of driving on the sand and yes long road trips. Looking to reduce the noise and add some on road precision.
Thread 'Trailer Braking'
I use a Redarc Tow-pro elite on my Disco/Trailer with electric brakes  great unit. They speak about 'pre-wiring' but this unit in my car is under the dash somewhere and has a little button on the dash for you to dial  up the strength of the electric brakes on the trailer. Anyone on the forum know anything about this sort of system and plugging it in to the Grenadier.   E.g the button on the dash is the little one to the right in the picture - the  unit goes 'somewhere'.
Hi. Have you taken a look if it has brakes with 4 pistons? Fixed brake calipers with moving pads? Front, rear brakes?
Hi, Just interested to know whether the handbrake is a transmission brake, like the old Defender, or a traditional wheel brake? Thanks.
Thread 'Goodridge Brake Hoses'
So there was obviously some initial first delivery delays due to brake hoses. I heard two versions of the story why. One was that some had come without the required labels and so for type approval/Certificate of Conformity requirements they needed to swapped out; and secondly due to them being twisted when installed and so not meeting the suppliers installations requirements: I thought somewhere in the batch and hold, additional QA checks, ALL brake hoses would have been checked. No...
Thread 'Park brake (hand brake) adjustment'
I adjusted the park brake on my Grenadier today. It's a conventional three-cable system. A front cable connects the handle to a joiner that connects to two rear cables, one for each rear brake caliper. The joiner incorporates the system adjustment point. I could not locate a 2nd adjustment point under the park brake handle as is common. The joiner is under the back seat. If you have the auxiliary battery and Smartpass option like I do then it's a fairly crappy job to get to it. It's under...
Hi. Just got my new trialmaster last week. Was driving on road and did a slightly sharp stop and felt and heard click on brake pedal like abs activating but then pedal went spongy and foot to floor. Very soft but still functioning brake after that. Dropped it off at dealers - no mechanic today as too late but they will look at it tomorrow. Sounds like maybe abs solenoid stuck or maybe a master cylinder gasket but will find out soon enough. Anyone else had this happen?
What are the best compatible brake pads and discs to use for Grenadier 3:0 litre Diesel and Petrol?
