Hi All, Does anyone know what the Grenadier 17 inch steel wheel rim profile is? Is it 17inch X 8inch or 17 inch X 10inch? Thanks in advance
In my Defender I have an after market TPMS system to monitor the Defender tyres and toes on my caravan - is it possible to also monitor trailer tyres from the built in system in the Grenadier? Otherwise I will need to add a secondary system and I assume the answer is that it’s not possible!
Just trolling the website looking for when the US pricing will go live. The thing that struck me was that the website pics make the vehicle look much further off the ground than the real world pics. The website pics give the proper relationship between wheel size, width, and ground clearance. While real world pics make it look closer to the ground. I have a feeling it is due to the use of a telephoto lens at a fairly low angle compared to normal to wide lenses for most real world pics...
Thread 'Metal Tyre Valves'
I think we've all read that Ineos have fitted metal tyre valves as they think they are more robust for off road use; but my question is are they fitted with metal dust caps? I thought they were but mine appear to be plastic, can people check and confirm what they have?
Thread 'Wheel Nut Weights'
A thread partly provoked by comments on the Christian & Vera/ @emax video, and partly by thoughts I'd already had about using locking wheel nuts with the new open ended (and so smaller) ordinary nuts with steel wheels. I've weighed one of each. Standard open ended nut = 32g Original closed cap nut = 74g Locking wheel nut = 84g Not sure about taking them off altogether, but for the time being I've moved them all to sit opposite the valves. A probably less than useless gesture to balance...
Thread 'Windy Gun / Impact Gun Damage to Steel Wheels'
Things you don't notice until they're right under your nose...
Looking to add these subject tires after delivery. Does anyone have insight if these will rub anything without a minimum 2.0” lift (spring or spacer)? I suppose if I did install these while awaiting availability of a lift I could adjust the front turn radius bolts To gain some rub clearance. Insight is much appreciated. Thanks.
Hello all… does anybody know what the thread pitch is? Need to get lug nuts for my aftermarket wheels and I can’t seem to find any information on this. Please help 🙏🏻
Thread 'New wheel day today :)'
That’s the new wheels fitted at last 🙂 though they are all dirty now from the rain on the way back to my workshop. Thank you to Denton cars at Skipton for swapping my tyres over on their new state of the art tyre machine.
Any thoughts on fitting of wheel spacers to the Grenadier? Would this not allow for a tighter turning circle than currently available? What might the trade off be?
I can't decide if I take the 17" Steel or Alu Wheels on my TRIALMASTER :-( One decision point would be the weight of the Wheels --> if there is a big difference, I would go with Alu Wheels :-) Is someone aware of the weight difference between the two options? Any other important decision points?
Thread 'Does anyone know where i can fin this wheel for our Grenny's?'
I am looking for this wheel. IF anyone has a lead on where to find them, please let me know. THX!
Thread 'Bigger tyres > 255/85r17'
I've just done a test fit with Mickey Thompson (MT) Baja Boss AT tyres in 255/85r17 The MT website states the tyre diameter is 879mm (34.606 inches). MT tyres run big with the calculated size of a 255/85r17 being 865.3mm Of interest MT quotes a true 35x12.5 at 876mm (34.488 inches) so these 255/85s are just 3mm bigger than a true 35 (basically would be a 35x10.5) The tyres sit inside the guards and do not scrub anything lock to lock. Not sure how it would work flexed up though. Fitters...
Hello, So I checked the torque on the wheel nuts delivered from dealer and I was surprised to see it’s such a high value. I used a Stahlwille torque (40Nm-200Nm, +/-4%) and all the wheel nuts seem to be bolted down at 155Nm of torque. Does that seem high or am I just seeing things that aren’t there? I have the 18” steelies with BFG KO2’s
Did anyone think about installing a CTIS (Central Tyres Inflation System)? Trying to find out who did the one of the Mercedes G6x6 but limited info so far online. Trying to pick the community brain here, so as to find pros & cons, after market system’s available, type and models etc
anyone tried these tires on your gren? I have them on a K5 and I really like them.
I know that the TPMS system is discussed in various threads, and I hope I have read most of them. But there was no conclusion. I finally decided to postpone the order of new Ineos steel rims + sensors for my winter tyres since (and change tires on my existing rims instead) since ... INEOS Support could not answer my question how to register the second set of sensors to my car. Told me to ask my dealer. (Case number on request) My dealer told me that they have already problems with the...
Thread 'I'm looking at the Black Rhino Yellowstone wheels.'
The Black Rhino Yellowstone or Stadium wheels come in 16"and 17" diameters (8" wide) and 38 and 45 mm offsets. Can 16" wheels fit a Grenny without interfering with the brakes? These offsets are only 7 mm difference. Which would be preferred? I've run 16"ers for decades on many 4x4's but now BFG KO2's are not made in 16". But Goodyear DuraTrac are. Thoughts?
With the power takeoff in the back what’s a very good but small pump to inflate tires after a day out in the wild? I have a big garage one I could just toss in the back but looking to utilize the 400w system. I also have a very small but awesome lithium one but it can only handle a could tires before overheating. Was even wondering if a compressor could be built into the back left empty compartment and maybe ran from the overhead switches. I’m new to all this so if this sounds dumb cut me...
I live in a rural part of North Scotland, about 57.5°N, not huge elevation, my house is about 250m. Our roads don’t get cleared of snow, the nearest town is 10 miles away. We generally have snow for 2-3 months of the year, often up to a metre of actual snowfall but it drifts obviously, one year my van got buried completely. Record low here, on my weather station with a Stevenson screen, is -23C (-10F), it’s very common to have -10C to -13C. My Grenadier comes with the BFG AT’s, I’ve had...
