How has your mpg been since upgrading to these? Any major difference or only slightly less mpg? Worth the trade off for the better handling you're stating?Fitted my other wheels today, 33x12.5r17 They have the same 35mm offset as my other set but there’s about 20mm more poke due to the wider tyre… They ride well..View attachment 7896880
I can't really notice much difference, maybe 1mpg... I wouldn't say handling is better, just about the same, I probably drive slightly more carefully in the wet based on previous mud tyre experience. How has your mpg been since upgrading to these? Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I just put my Grenadier on order this past weekend with steel wheels on the Trialmaster edition. MM color with black roof. So, looking for a 33 inch tire to upgrade too that won't hit my MPG too bad. I might leave the 31 inch tire on. Not sure yet. The slightly bigger tire just makes the Grenadier appearance drastically change, but I want to avoid hitting my MPGI can't really notice much difference, maybe 1mpg... FYI The falken MT's that I have are not a true 33" they are a 32.8" which is virtually the same as a 285/70-17...Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Dane, how is the pizza cutter style tire upgrade for you? Any issues to ride comfort or big mpg hit?Method 703 in Gloss Titanium (17x7.5 | 6x130 | 50/6.20") wearing Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 255/85R17. Stock suspension (for now).
How is that Mud Terrain on noise for you? I'm assuming naturally louder than stock tires?FYI The falken MT's that I have are not a true 33" they are a 32.8" which is virtually the same as a 285/70-17...
Not that 0.2" is going to make much difference to your MPG...
Louder than the BFG At's for sure, but not bad, the soundproofing on the Grenadier is pretty good. If it was an old defender they would be way louder. I know from experience...How is that Mud Terrain on noise for you? I'm assuming naturally louder than stock tires?
I don't track MPG, so I can't tell you the impact there. I have no complaints about the ride or noise. I don't really know what to tell you other than that I have no regrets.Dane, how is the pizza cutter style tire upgrade for you? Any issues to ride comfort or big mpg hit?
