TPMS - The Quest for a second set of tyres/rims/sensors - Technical

That didn't work for me.

If I go into offroad temperature screen and tap the 3 lines I get a menu item "Set RCP" (recommended cold temperature). Nothing changes in this list if I follow the reboot procedure procedure above. My grenadier is an MY23 diesel so things may be different for MY24 NAS cars.

Cheers
Steve
I will try to reconfirm details and steps. To be honest, it hasn’t worked for me either, but I saw it work on the IG that americas tire worked on. Let me get further clarification- I wasn’t sure if it was due to theirs was a late 24 vs MY23, MY24.1. It worked for him, for sure, as his rig was at field van, local to us and got aftermarket wheels and the TPMS listed above. They could clone, but could not set them to the IG. He returned with his OEM TPMS. Once installed, performed the stated procedure, and menu allowed for acknowledgment/placement of each corner. Let me reconfirm, and hopefully we can see if this is viable.
Lastly- customer named it as a bug that Ineos confirmed how to navigate. My understanding is menu is only available under certain circumstances.

A-Premium 4PCS Pre-Programmed TPMS Sensor Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor - Compatible with Nissan, Infiniti & INEOS - Altima, Frontier, Leaf, Pathfinder, Rogue, QX50, QX55, QX60, Grenadier - 433MHz https://a.co/d/f3FLnRC

I bought these and installed on new rims and thought they would work and auto discover, but so far no luck. Has anyone paired these sensor successfully ? Reading thread I may have to take to dealer? Long story, but do have orignial sensors on other rims. Before swapping all 4 sensors I am looking for best advice forward … Thanks
Update on these sensors - I took to dealer and they paired them for free Dealer= Freehold Ineos

Ok so i only skimmed this thread again so forgive me if I’ve missed the main points.

The gist of it all is that if you what to do a winter wheel swap (ie wheel+tire because who wants to balance tires at home?) you either have to just deal with the tpms warnings or visit the dealer for tpms reprogramming each winter and spring. Does this sound accurate?

Its a shame, tpms tech is so mature its wild a new car has this issue. Im in the process of buying a property in northern Vermont, so I will absolutely need a winter set just to get up the driveway lol

3rd option. Buy the relevant tpms tool from Autel and a set of programable Autel sensors and clone them to read identities of the original sensors. Worked for me so far.

Me too. Bought the Autel tool, and 5 MX Sensors
Just cloned the OEM ones onto the Autel ones and all good.
Better actually - as I will rotate the tyres annually, so that job became a LOT easier than the OEM system.
(I always rotate my tyres, otherwise I end up throwing away a unused spare tyre that has done 0 miles after 10 years - and it's never even been on the tarmac!)

Which Autel did you buy? I had my tire guy do it but would sure be nice to do myself. Thx!

I bought this one buddy:

Plus an additional sensor for the spare wheel
Wonderful! Thank you!

I hope this works in the USA! I need to get these sensors up and running so I can order new tires.

I am about to install a second set of tires and trying to figure out how to deal with the tpms system. I am coming from toyotas and one way we "bypass" tpms system is place all tpms sensors inside a sealed pvc pipe with a valve installed so that we can add in air. so this way ineos system reads all the sensors properly. ofcourse now we monitored the tire pressure ourselves which I would rather do. anyone tried this?

I’ve done this in the USA, with an Autel 508 tool and MX sensors. Works great
Did you Autel 508 list the Grenadier? I just purchased a used 508 that does not list the Grenadier. I am afraid that updating it would remove the copy via activation and manual input functions. Thanks

Just got the Autel TS508WF with latest update and it lists Ineos Grenadier. Now to see how it will relearn to match wheel sensor to location following a tire rotation.

I updated my 508 (non-WiFi) because grenadier wasn’t listed. It updated, now has grenadier listed. Good to go

Keep us posted if it’s able to change in location.
If it does not work please contact jaylopez@autel.com and send him your screen shots.

I could not connect via ODBC. I could not figure out how to update the Grenadier with the new sensor IDs.

Autel gave me a solution that assumed the Grenadier would "learn" the new IDs if you drove for 20 minutes with the new sensors installed (new sensor IDs).

My dealer said that was still not supported.

Also please call Autel (855-288-3587) and let then know it does not work and they should do the following:

Add the "copy by activation" and "copy by manual input" back in the software

Work with Ineos to fix the issues.

Thanks

P.S. let me know if you figure out another way. I just bought a used Autel 508 (non WF) and I am trying to clone the sensors IDs.
