I think Daveb is or has gone that way with the film. I would like to get a report from the horses mouth. I must admit I like this deflector...yes it works. Garry the builder has been doing them for now twenty years and says they are just about right with a smile

Does the "positioning" of the deflector e.g. half way along the bonnet vs (say) on a bullbar make a noticeable difference?
An old school aero study would be informative if you want to maximise the benefit. Tape a series of woolen threads in a line along the centre of the bonnet starting near the grill and ending in front of the scuttle panel. Given a constant wind direction and speed, at various road speeds different threads will lift away from the bonnet as the airflow separates from the bonnet to go over the roofline. That's likely the sweet spot for a deflector. Too far back and it will be in the eddy zone and lose effect. Too far forward the air (and small stones) will recirculate back down onto the windscreen. It is 30cms back from the front of the bonnet and that might change due to bonnet size, I was to send him pics of a couple of different angles of the front end of the Gren. I have no idea about the bullbar difference but I am sure he has. He will talk to you about all there is to know of his deflectors
If I could ensure the optimal position, using Clark Kent's time honoured 'tuft' method, I'd have no qualms installing the brackets with a couple of rivnuts into the bonnet. Vinyl plugs treated with matching touchup paint covering the rivnuts holes would make them barely noticeable if the deflector and brackets were required to be removed for some reason.
First upgrade I did early last year.
I waited till my winter was past then decided to get them , so much more visibility than the standards
Is it at RDS getting the software update? Mine goes in on the 25th for 12k, update and a couple other things.
I spoke with RDS a few weeks ago... the software update is being made available on a LIFO basis e.g. trucks with later build dates are eligible first it seems. No idea why, but they told me as of Memorial day that my late build 2024 was not yet eligible. I am going to new MN dealership 6/20 for an oil change (I always do one around 1K), fix the door hinge bolt I mangled when trying to install Buzz step, will see about SW update while I am there too.
I was really surprised when they told me they could do the update. Wasn't expected. I just mentioned I knew about it and at least needed the CEL Fuel fault cleared.
Yes, but my VIN is around 7000 so no update for me yet but happy to have my brake light off. Still need door handles done also.
