This is not everyones cuppa tea but I have noticed how my windscreen is starting to look sandblasted because of our overlanding on dirts and backroads.
It is a great bug, sand and small stones deflector for our straight up and down windscreens.

Thanks for the pics @Max. Have you noticed any reduction in bugs?

I see these guys advertising another film-based protection solution. Located in Burleigh Heads.

I think Daveb is or has gone that way with the film. I would like to get a report from the horses mouth. I must admit I like this deflector...yes it works. Garry the builder has been doing them for now twenty years and says they are just about right with a smile (y) ;)

Most practical !👍
Does the "positioning" of the deflector e.g. half way along the bonnet vs (say) on a bullbar make a noticeable difference?

Added a small Cerwin Vega powered subwoofer enclosure in the dead space between fridge and seat back.

It fills out the low end (30-100hz) appropriately for the weak 25w stock grenadier speakers.

It does not punch. It does no play loud. But I have a little more low end now to complement the stock speakers (which sound ok, not great or excellent, but ok), and without consuming any important real estate for camping gear :)

I tapped the factory subwoofer loom for high level inputs.

Added some foam to wedge it in so it does not fly around or vibrate. Fridge slides in/out no problem. I put a disconnect on it so I can easily remove it if I need the space.

Garry who designed these has created a vinyl templet that comes in the kit and has all the markings and measurements for you to line up to.
It is 30cms back from the front of the bonnet and that might change due to bonnet size, I was to send him pics of a couple of different angles of the front end of the Gren. I have no idea about the bullbar difference but I am sure he has. He will talk to you about all there is to know of his deflectors (y)

An old school aero study would be informative if you want to maximise the benefit. Tape a series of woolen threads in a line along the centre of the bonnet starting near the grill and ending in front of the scuttle panel. Given a constant wind direction and speed, at various road speeds different threads will lift away from the bonnet as the airflow separates from the bonnet to go over the roofline. That's likely the sweet spot for a deflector. Too far back and it will be in the eddy zone and lose effect. Too far forward the air (and small stones) will recirculate back down onto the windscreen. Garry may have done this testing on other vehicles to recommend the 30cm position.

Are you happy with how it affixed @Max ? Double sided tape? I’m a bit dubious of how strong that is after two of my window deflectors have come off. I bought some new tape from Bunnings to redo them all but haven’t used it yet.

Certainly clear perspex is the go - I’m not a fan of the coloured ones I’ve seen on the bonnets before.

If I could ensure the optimal position, using Clark Kent's time honoured 'tuft' method, I'd have no qualms installing the brackets with a couple of rivnuts into the bonnet. Vinyl plugs treated with matching touchup paint covering the rivnuts holes would make them barely noticeable if the deflector and brackets were required to be removed for some reason.
