Well after 9200 miles on the Grenadier it was time for new wheels and tires. I was never a fan of the 18" alloys with the Fieldmaster and really did not care for the KO2s. When a few of us took a week to do some wheeling in the Salida Colorado area I managed to chunk one of the sidewalls down to the cordage and put the spare on. That went great but had another tire on the same week long trip get another gash in the sidewall....still working tire but was in the mkt for new stuff anyway so this gave me an excuse to put on the new wheel/tire combo.
I elected to go with Method 701 wheels in Matte Black (17x7.5 | 6x130 | 50/6.20") with Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 255/85R17 tires. I have to give a shout out to
@DaneJa and
@Brad@SuperiorCO! Having seen theirs when we did the Owl Skid Plates I was very impressed. I dont think the pics them justice as they look much better IMO in real life!
I have driven them around for about 20 miles on the roads here near my house and could not get them to rub. Dane has been running a VERY similar setup the only difference is he went with the Method 703s and has zero complaints with them.
I have to pick up some washers for the spare tire location to offset them slightly to open the rear door as others have done. Should be complete tomorrow morning!
So here are some Pics I took from the afternoon....hope you all like them!
