7340 lb to be exact. That's with both fuel tanks full, basic recovery gear, tools, plus me and the dog in the Grenadier. Not a light weight, but not too bad after I did some weight loss by deleting the rear seat and removing my drawers. I'm turning this thing into a trail weapon. Albeit a hefty one.
As for the RTI event, it was a 20deg ramp and I was the 2nd person on after my friend in his dialed-in GX470 on long travel and 35's. We were both there to see if our tires cleared and didn't take exact measurements as there is a Metalcloak CTI event coming up here soon that we will both be at. That's the one I want to capture. This RTI was just more for the fun of it.
Or the Joint will not free from the shaft splines and you don't have a puller or a vice!!!!The first is doable on one's driveway, but it may turn violent when the rear joint refuses to leave.
Based on my experience it's just as heavy as my 200 was with a similar setup. And further research shows 300's and 70's in Australia, loaded up with a full touring spec are about the same weight. Luckily we don't have to do a GVM upgrade (because we legally can't) in the Grenadier to still make it all happen. For me, it's simply my fridge, camping gear, and wife left to pack up. Should be good to go under GVWR still. That's one heavy truck. That leaves you what, like 375 lbs of payload?
Look forward to hearing/seeing more from the CTI event!
It looks more like your transfer case output oil seal has gone. The cv boot is very dry and not greasy at all.Joining the club... Luckily, we spotted it before it totally failed. Happened at 66,000km. No lift.

I think the back cover of the joint could have failed. There are two little holes that will sling grease if that happens. Possibly a clip failure. The weep holes look wet inside. It looks more like your transfer case output oil seal has gone. The cv boot is very dry and not greasy at all.

@Matt P why was your post removed from here and from the Facebook group? Please tell me that Ineos didn’t ask you to remove it. You are a high profile own with substantial influence. It’s one thing if you decided you didn’t want to share but it’s very different if you were asked to remove it.It looks more like your transfer case output oil seal has gone. My take off front drive shaft is still in the box where the dealership put it. I've been working all weekend and I will check tomorrow to see the condition of the CV bootMan, you can almost feel how thin that boot material is just by looking at it. Good pic!!!
If you replace the joint on your own will you dissect the boot and post pics. Need the boot cleaned and then cut cleanly in cross sections.
And most of the replies to Matts post have been removed too. Only way I can see my post is to go into my account and my content, this reveals the replies to Matts post but not the original post by Matt.@Matt P why was your post removed from here and from the Facebook group? Yes I'll be replacing it myself. I want to learn how before doing remote travel anyway so kind of fortuitous that its now rather than latter. I'll do some direction if I can.Man, you can almost feel how thin that boot material is just by looking at it. Good pic!!!

Going to crawl under the Gren and check my boot today!
Yes, clearly a monumental failure by Ineos that possibly could end the Grenadier.what a sad situation to be in, when owners feel the need to get under their vehicle before and after any long driveto check for a faulty prop shaft CV joint. . This should not be happening on any modern vehicle made for purpose !
