What are people’s expectations around exterior bolts in the BG Roof Rack?

IMG_0790.jpeg
Leaving the Grenny out for the winter (Central Europe) these bolts in particular seem to have suffered quite a lot of rust.

Another point I wanted to get some opinions on is the wind deflector on the BG roof rack. Around 110 km/h the deflector starts to vibrate.

Looks to me that the ring is fine and the bolt itself is not fit for outside use. A lot of these are Chinese junk. Your best bet is to find something marketed as 316 stainless. I found some on Amazon that have worked for me. Unless I'm actually using them, I take mine off too.

It also looks like you should be using a washer with your eye bolt. I don't see a lot of metal on top interfacing with the rail.
