Hi all, Is a dull whine noise when decelerating ( coasting) normal for the Grenadier ( diesel)? I only notice it if I’m driving over 70k’s per hour and it goes away as soon as I touch the accelerator. Cheers
Thread 'Sven Made Driveshafts'
I found this over on Facebook this is some very nice engineering and machining on this drive shaft. Our friends in Europe have nice path forward for lifted truck. Hopefully we get Tom Wood looking athletic grenadier soon here in the states. https://4xshaft.com/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAACiJmHWY7fvV440LctyhUeJSpLVun&gclid=Cj0KCQjw1Yy5BhD-ARIsAI0RbXYLn83N6411kOm7w_Q4Vn4_iAnaVmgIBQmyANZqfq2rZTHHmo8LTzQaAvczEALw_wcB. Thread 'Transfer case oil change procedure'
Looking to change my transfer case gear oil after grinding it while shifting from L to H. Want to flush out any potential metal shavings The fluid spec I found cites two volumes - 1.8L and 2.64L I am just doing a drain & fill. I am not clear what the 2.64L indicates. Is the fluid change procedure similar to other 4x4 transfer cases? Just fill until oil comes out of the fill hole?
Hi when taking delivery of our Grenadier a couple of weeks ago ,we could not test the transfer case gear level as the infamous pin had come out The dealer accepted that it was a fault and the gear lever would be replaced Dealer says they have now received the £BOWDEN cable" ? Is this where the problem lies ? No diagram or photo to explain what the problem is ? Next : dealer apparently very busy, could not replace the faulty part before January From your experience ,is it a difficult job...
New YouTube video discussing building portal axles for the Grenadier. It won't be cheap, but it would be done right. If you want portals (and you should) it's time to get serious... View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rs-xdtDh9c
Hello When driving, this sound appears while pressing the accelerator pedal and also right after you release the pedal. I found out that the sound is louder when the transmission is cold and it sounds like ultrasound in the cabin.Attaching my youtube shorts recording: View: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/une0bLQc_W8 View: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nJSOzNeJ5Kk
Black soot like dust in the engine compartment . Anyone know why this would happen ? I have 60,000 miles and it was fine at last check in.Truck runs fine , When going above 55 miles an hour on a load you can hear a wheezing sound on acceleration think is the turbo.
Hello everyone, I experienced a lot of random check engine warnings regarding the fuel sensor, steering, gearbox and diff locks since picking up my IG. All cleared out upon restart, pretty much like everyone else's experience. Before going out on the current trip, I plugged out the Scangauge II to relocate it, but ended up short on time and left it at home. Now, 1500km+ in my trip so far, did 3 fillups, last one to the brim, abused the shifter, the LO/HI lever, fiddled with the difflocks a...
Figured we need a thread to post virgin and used oil analysis. Will be nice to see where these engines are showing wear based on oil used. -Brand -Oil Weight -Mileage on analysis -Location -Any relatable notes on city/highway/workload
Received another log book through the post last week. UK Diesel 2023 SW. Then received separate letter saying that the C02 declared on the original was incorrect and the correct (lower) value is now on the new one and to please dispose of the old one. So it's gone from 336 G/KM down to 312 G/KM - DVLA says has no effect to the owner. Posting it here as until I got the separate letter I was a bit non-plussed.
Thread 'Unplugging stuff to see engine control behavior?'
I looked at the B57 engine with the cover off and I don't really like what i see. Hugely lot of electronics, compared for example with a recent 2.8D from Toyota. Anyone willing to purposely unplug some stuff to see how the car behaves, and if Ineos did something to the ECU software to actually drive this thing with some partial malfunction? - Injectors - EGR - Sensors - Turbo geometry control - Catalytic sensors Who wants to be the forum guinea pig? :)
Driving on beach/sand, traction control gets enabled past 80km/h. Any advice on overriding this behavior?
Thread 'New notification "Service in 96H"'
Today I noticed another new notification for servicing. It says "Service in 96H". Anybody know what is this about?
Thread 'Question about loose part on B57 diesel engine during cleaning (EGR Coupling)'
Hi everyone, I’m currently preparing my Grenadier for shipment from Surabaya, Indonesia, to Perth, Australia. As part of the process, everything needs to be super clean to meet Australian customs requirements. While working at a professional cleaning company, we discovered a part on the B57 diesel engine that seems to be loose. The team isn’t sure if it was already loose before cleaning or if something happened during the process. It also doesn’t easily go back into place, even though it...
Threw a CEL over the weekend and finally got a reader to check it out. Good ole P0461!
The Other day was going to take my grenadier in for its 90000km service. Car started but made terrible rattling sounds and as soon as you took your foot of the brake engine stopped. This repeated a few times so finally rang roadside assist. I was very impressed with roadside assist and they turned up within the 1 hour as promised. Car started and operated with no indication of why road side assist was called. The mechanic said that this was the most common outcome with calls. When he got...
Thread 'Update Prior to Sale: Coolant Hose Clip – Remove'
Last week (3th week April 2023) I found a work order in my "yet not delivered" car and took pictures: “Update Prior to Sale: Coolant Hose Clip – Remove”, see the next pictures. Only for VIN numbers till 1957, my birth year by the way 😊 I am somewhat concerned about this: Why did they “by design” need the clip? Why is it “over constrained”? Why didn’t they install a clip with “no constrain”? I think we will have to watch the coolant hose in the future. I wouldn’t be surprised that they...
Anyone with a diesel who can help? After turning off the car after a 30 minute drive. The engine cooling fan is super loud for 3/5 minutes after I turn off the ignition. Is it normally this loud? Many thanks
