New Year Service Overdue Bug

Since the 1 January onset, I can count 68 days to today. 30 Jan days plus 28 Feb days plus 10. The difference in the Grenadier is 65. I would not mind a delta 1, but I cannot explain a delta 3. I'm not asking for an explanation; it's the bug that keeps on giving.

I've received no email from IA regarding a solution here in the States. I checked with my dealer last week. He wrote that Ineos has advised him that a software update is coming, but no release timeline was provided. No big deal, it is imminent.

My dealer is direct, to the point, and will not speculate. I suspect that his tight-lipped approach to answering questions from owners is a lesson learned after sharing too much Ineos BS over the past few years.

Weirdly - I drove the vehicle once Sunday evening and three times Monday - all without seeing the alert? Today, Tuesday the 10th though I am seeing it again on start up. I usually don't turn it off with the button - but I must have without remembering each time?

Sorry to everybody who rushed out their vehicle to check.
It is not going away anytime soon. INEOS is a deer in the headlights. Christmas 2027 will come and go aand this issue will still persist with all other issues. Mark your calender.

I’ve been supporting Ineos through most of their issues but this one is getting harder to understand. I am sure they can write code to eliminate the bug immediately, but won’t release it for fear of losing dates and records. Why? Is it all warranty / service related? Couldn’t they simply download all our vehicle service records to their online database and just go old school - leave it up to the owner to get service as needed. The dealer can then manually update their system like other manufactures. Seems like they are dead set on maintaining the service reminder system. I am not sure what else, if anything, it is tied to? Just eliminate it on our vehicles and produce a better option in future vehicles. I don’t need a reminder system. I’m quite sure at the price point of our vehicles, we all understand the need to maintain our IG’s.

The crazy thing about this bug is that it masks when the truck is truly in need of service.

Not necessarily, nothing untoward happened on 01/01/25 as far as I know so 01/01/26 may have been special.

I know! It covers the odometer on occasion and I can't see how many miles I've driven.
[/sarcasm]

I've never needed an alert in any of my vehicles. I wish it would go away forever and never come back.

Just had service on my 25, no more service bug. But the software that got put on has more ADAS features like drowsiness detection. When I turned that off my front camera light came on the tell tale, wouldn't go away until I restarted the truck. Possible to put 2026+ software on older grennys?

Does your rear view mirror have dots or sensors on them?

Not talking about whether the owner see it, of course you can see the miles driven, I’m talking about the true service intervals logged by the computer.

I'm glad that your recent service and software update (two different things) have subdued the service overdue warning, but are you certain that it fixed the original software error (bug)? Maybe it did. Your question about installing newer software onto an older car is a good one. You can send it to Ineos Customer Service, but no satisfactory answer will be returned, in my experience.

I don't think that Ineos can or will ever offer a good explanation for this whole situation, including -
* Why we have a (regional) phased roll-out of the fix
* A clear explanation of service reset versus specific software fix for the overdue warning error
* Is the solution (software update) consistent across all Grenadier variants (23.x, 24.1, 24.2, 24.3, 25.1, 25.2 and beyond)

I doubt nothing about your post, @BrandonADV , but so much of this overdue issue is unclear, including my understanding that no fix has been officially released in the States. Inspired, I just sent an email to Ineos with some of these questions... stay tuned.
