91 is the only fuel that is affected in Australia, 95, 98, and diesel are not affected according to news reports, well so far, but the future ? .
We may not be able to afford the fuel for our lawnmowers to mow our lawns.

It rolls back the fuel standards to those in place before 15th December 2025, so no difference to Grenadiers as they functioned perfectly on the old standards.

Australia's stricter fuel sulphur limits rolled back for 60 days, adding two days' extra stock per month

Higher sulphur limits will be reintroduced into Australia's fuel supply for the next two months, after lower limits were enforced in December.

@globalgregors has been using higher sulphur diesel in South America. Other than more frequent DPF burnoffs the car is running well. He may have more to say.

Historically sulphur was the main lubricant for injectors and pump elements in diesels and would likely have the same benefits in a DI petrol engine. They add lubricants into diesel now. When introdused ULSD did cause issues with seals and excess pump and injector wear was experienced in some old mecanical diesel fuel systems. Higher sulphur diesel also had a slightly higher energy density then ULSD. The main downside sulphur can cause issues with DPF, GPF and may require more earlier oil change intervals in some operational scenarios because of excess acid in the engine oil.
