New Year Service Overdue Bug

Like right after you fill up the tank? We had that implausibly named “fuel plausibility code” error a year ago or whatever and I got an update - hasn’t happened since. Or is this different?
I’ve got no error codes. But since the service overdue fault, if I get to a stage where I have a yellow warning to refuel then it takes ages to recognise a full tank when I refill. And continues to say refuel soon and for instance 75 miles of range left, even when full. I can clear by pressing and holding the must button for 30 seconds until screen goes blank then resets with no warnings.

I went to the dealer last week to get a few things checked out. They received instructions to temporarily correct the overdue alert instead of waiting for the software update that fixes this bug. While at this recent visit, they also proactively installed a Power Steering Reservoir Cap Seal from Agile Offroad.

Can you explain why the seal on the power steering cap was replaced? I'm assuming the OEM seal is bad, causing leaks?

When I first purchased the Grenadier, I brought this to the dealership’s attention. At the time, they explained that the cap functions as a pressure valve and that some leakage could be expected.

Thanks for posting this, very helpful.

Yes, because it leaks. They have found that the AO seal does a much better job at sealing it than the OEM.

I thought the eCall system was operated by an outsourced call centre 📞 that also serves other manufacturers. I would find that unlikely since the Grenadier doesn't have OTA capability, ( but technically possible??? I doubt and what cost). I also thought the Tesla and the other " et als" had OTA capability and don't use the eCall system for data transfer
I’m highly dubious about this. I have some experience with large automakers and their OTA update architectures.

The e-call cellular modem is almost certainly not set up to distribute code to the variety of modules in a Grenadier that would need to be updated. This code is securely signed, need to be validated as it is being applied, and the idea of using a cellular radio that was not specifically designed for this purpose seems like something that someone made up.

The risk of bricking vehicles through update antics like this is extreme, and the costliest type of blunder an automaker can make. I’m open to being wrong, but I call be on “finding” and OTA update path when one was not designed into the vehicle. Maybe it was designed for this and we just aren’t aware?
