Americas Knauz Lake Bluff thread

I am in Michigan. I offered to do it myself but they insisted their “service” would do it.

I have bought and sold many cars out of state. Either the tax is reciprocal or they show it as an out of state delivery and I paid it upon registration in Michigan.

The only one that took a long time was a Rivian that I bought second hand from a dealer not knowing they did not have the title from the original owner. That was sketchy on their part but it got sorted out. Rivian was having trouble issuing titles at the outset.

The worst part is the non-response from Knauz.

When I bought mine at Knauz, they registered the Ineos and handed me a plate right there and put it on for me. No temporary plate at all. Not sure why you have to wait? The finance guy in the office next to the drive in bay did it all within a short time, and on a Saturday!
Same. Got plate that day. My guess is has to do with those waiting on TEMP plates are from out of state.

I do have a small edit to my comments.

I purchased the truck on 4/2 and still no plate.

I talked to the “guide” Luke last week.

His cheap excuse was “ We use a service” … I replied that “ I own a business and when my subcontractors do not perform, that is my problem..”

He weakly said he would check on it, but of course I have not heard back.

I also got the fuel fill CEL. Called their service. “ Don’t worry it will go away.”
Checked the forum, bought the scanner and reset it. Then it went away.

They are regressing back to the typical car dealer act at this point.

Hate to see it.
The problem is that all of the dealers are incentivized ($$$) to do one thing and one thing only - deliver vehicles. As I'm sure you also know, comp plan defines behavior.

Until corporate implements a Customer Satisfaction Index, I expect service at mediocre dealerships to go from bad to worse.

Good dealerships will stay good - at least I hope so.

I will have to get after this again.

I have also found it interesting that there has been zero corporate customer satisfaction inquiry. Maybe they don’t want to know.

My Ford, GM, JLR, BMW experience is that they are very active in seeking customer experience information.

After bouncing emails back and forth with Knauz, they let me know that things should be sorted and I will receive my plates in the next couple of days.

Hopefully this will come to fruition, we will see.

anyone else get the "as a knauz customer here a gift card" for bespoken tailoring?
I did, as well as a text on my mobile referring to Dave B. I am deeply confused, since most of us are committed to off-road adventures “au naturel,” aren’t we? ;o). That’s why the seat covers are so important.

Same. Reached out to the guy. says is only good towards a custom tailored suit or tailored sport coat.
I appreciate the idea, however I don't see us spending $3K+ on a suit/jacket at this point.

Are they paying for it?

Well I don’t know about you guys but I’m sticking with my nudists living in a commune story - seems to have worked ;o)

I am less than thrilled that they gave my personal information to a private company trying to sell me something.

No, not free. Knauz has given each customer a $750.00 gift certificate towards a purchase. I have not even looked at the price of things this merchant carries, but my suspicion is the cheapest things they have are well beyond the token gift value which Knauz has sponsored.
just noticed, have almost the exact same setup.. Sela Green Trial Master w/Scottish White roof. :-) Needs to have white steelies (in my opinion).

I am not happy about giving up my information either

I did not authorize that to my knowledge. Plus, what a cheesy offer. If I want custom clothing I will, and have, pay/paid for it. The last time I went for a fitting ( which was a while ago) the invoice was $15k or so. T-shirts and shorts now.

Must be someone’s brother in law.

just a bump... how has service been for folks with Knauz? I heard they were kicked out of the BMW bays and that there isn't a dedicated INEOS space. Has that caused delays for anyone? TIA

No problems here. I had 24k service about 2 months ago. They also did the door recall. I think I’ve been out about 3 times this year - they also had the contractor fix the Exoshield, which was peeling off prematurely. I’ve generally been able to get an appointment right away, and the service has been done according to their estimated timeline. To be fair, other than one unplanned visit (which was addressed by a BMW Service tech), I always drop it off at the beginning of a travel week and pick it up at the end of the week, rather than waiting there for service. They’re not off-road specialists by any means (consider the location), but I think they are conscientious and capable. No complaints.
