Sorry to hear this. New car should not be without a functional HVAC.104 km, first owner
I had this issue in my 24. Have you checked your coolant levels? Topping mine off and running the bleed procedure has fixed it for me.2024 Trialmaster 25k miles. All stock except for a roof rack. Coldest setting with Air compressor switch on, is cold...... next notch is VERY warm, anything to the "right" (clockwise) from there, and its just full heat. Basically no adjustment at all. Either you have air conditioning, or full heat. I have a 1995 F800 truck with a mechanical slide lever that works better than this. If they put the temperature sensor in the duct after the fan/damper controls, and let us set the temperature of the air coming THROUGH the system, it would be much better.
And more of the nanny state featureWould the HVAC issues make you all go with a 2026 over a 2025, even with around an effective $8,500 premium?
Someone suggested it was it a similar system to air source heating in a house, and we know how good they are if it's not 100% insulated and sealed upI have noticed the colder it gets the more likely the HVAC will fail to produce heat
Mines ok now, drives as smooth as butter. It’s fixable with time, purging and coolant top up. There is some serious air pockets in the system.Would the HVAC issues make you all go with a 2026 over a 2025, even with around an effective $8,500 premium?
Did the hvac issue get resolved at the dealership?OK just got off the phone with service, they said they have had this (zero function on HVAC) 5-6 times now where the issue is too much of the protective coating on the ground points for the HVAC system. They clean off the ground points and it fixes this issue. I am bringing it in tomorrow and they said it takes about 10 minutes so I will report back if it fixed the issue. Should be still cold enough tomorrow to full test.
Same. Exactly.I treat it as a manual system by only selecting,
- floor vents or floor/dash (never defrost)
- temp selection
- fan speed
- AC as required
HVAC worked well after several times of topping up & purging. Then I got my diesel heater installed: They inevitably had to open the system. Result: Trapped air. Several purge cycles & several 100kms necessary to restore reasonable heater function again.keep doing it, and driving. It takes a long time to clear all the air, a long, long time
I think the problem is that it needs more than just bleeding, it needs to be run over a period if time to get all the small amounts of air out. One IA mechanic did mention to me about a pressurised kind of kit for bleeding the system but I don't think the dealers do it??If the purging and refilling the coolant tanks is effective (and more cost efficient than replacing the entire HVAC unit), why don’t the dealerships do this to the remaining 2024/2025s on dealer lots and ones coming in for service? Just have an official recall and remedy this issue.
The official Ineos policy seems to be either:
Don’t ask- Don’t tell
Or
Ignore it and it will go away
Dealer spent a week, trail & error, shimming certain flaps & controls w/ the air con system, manage to get the vibration part "resolved" however the front / rear heat problem is a feature., not a bug.How far is your dealer.
Can you arrange to deliver at a time that they will immediately send a technician (mechanic) out on your arrival so that your truck is operating as you explained. I did this in the early days of problems and dealers not really being aware.
The front and rear is not a feature, it will eventually work once all the air is out and any leaks in expansion tanks are fixed. Mine took about 25,000+ miles to fix fully. Not right that they are like this, they need to find a better system to clear all the air but it is what we have and the good news is it is fixable, it's just never a great system.Dealer spent a week, trail & error, shimming certain flaps & controls w/ the air con system, manage to get the vibration part "resolved" however the front / rear heat problem is a feature., not a bug.
Agreed. I had the super-hot rear condition 2-3 times over the Summer of 2024 and it was resolved by the dealer. The front and rear is not a feature, it will eventually work once all the air is out and any leaks in expansion tanks are fixed.
