It worked perfectly! Thanks for the idea.Try using a two- or three-armed puller.
That may / could have been me. Worked like a charm.Saw this on FB
"small ratchet strap around the driveshaft, transfer case end. the other end to just about anything forward of the shaft. couple clicks and it'll pop out."
Front end of the shaft - hook to the yoke cup. Back end of the shaft - loop around the necked portion; you'll be putting tension on the circlip, so it might come off before the joint case comes out of the cup. It went out with zero drama in my case. That technique seems pretty simple. I like simple.
Are you anchoring the strap by wrapping it on around the flared portion of the CV?
Is the white substance thread locker or corrosion? If corrosion what is the cause?View attachment 7919535
Just swapped another joint for someone today. I'm guessing the white portion is where people are seeing the stock bolts break.
For removing these bolts are you better off using an impact driver with long extension to prevent them breaking?View attachment 7919535

I am most certainly using impact. If nothing else but for speed. If you use hand tools you have to lock and unlock the drive train to get bolts. For removing these bolts are you better off using an impact driver with long extension to prevent them breaking?
When reinstalling the bolts are you tightening fully by hand or partial impact then finished off with torque wrench?I am most certainly using impact. If nothing else but for speed. If you use hand tools you have to lock and unlock the drive train to get bolts.
I use a pneumatic impact and a 6" extension with the proper T45 torq. Or Allen if you are using the Tera bolts.
I run them in with impact. They go easy. Torquing is a bit of an issue as I don't like the torque spec. It's a bit high and we broke off a bit today. I prefer feel honestly. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but it's worked well for me so far. When reinstalling the bolts are you tightening fully by hand or partial impact then finished off with torque wrench?
Hey, works for me. Whats written in the manual and what happens in the shop are often two different things.I run them in with impact. They go easy.
