Front Driveshaft Removal - Tech Data Request

Saw this on FB
"small ratchet strap around the driveshaft, transfer case end. the other end to just about anything forward of the shaft. couple clicks and it'll pop out."
That may / could have been me. Worked like a charm.

That technique seems pretty simple. I like simple. 😆

Are you anchoring the strap by wrapping it on around the flared portion of the CV?
Front end of the shaft - hook to the yoke cup. Back end of the shaft - loop around the necked portion; you'll be putting tension on the circlip, so it might come off before the joint case comes out of the cup. It went out with zero drama in my case.
FWIW - I tried every which way to bang the joint out from the sides or back of the crossmember. It didn't budge.

If there are no broken screws, you can simply keep the differential-side shaft connected and completely disconnect the transfer side. In this situation, start the engine and give it a few taps of the accelerator.
