Front end of the shaft - hook to the yoke cup. Back end of the shaft - loop around the necked portion; you'll be putting tension on the circlip, so it might come off before the joint case comes out of the cup. It went out with zero drama in my case.That technique seems pretty simple. I like simple.
Are you anchoring the strap by wrapping it on around the flared portion of the CV?
