You aren't wrong, but I don't believe we have seen a variance in failure from different climates. One thing is certain: the only cv joint that heats up significantly compared to the others is the one that also creates the most problems.
I can say the same with stock suspension at 19,333 miles.Stock suspension at 10,800 miles and my CV rubber looks/feels good.
There's plenty of caster adjustment in the factory suspension, no need at all in adjustable control arms.Anyone fit adjustable control arms and see a difference in pinion angle worth mentioning? I have a QM with 1.7” lift.
Try to isolate any that have the correct mounting parameters, then compare boot design.I tried to contact Dana but couldn't find any way to do so. I can't find an email address or contact form.
However, I did find their website with spare parts: https://www.danaaftermarket.com/Automotive/Automotive-Driveshaft/Drive-Shaft-CV-Joint
Can anyone identify which CV joint is ours? I would like to try to get an original one and compare it with a Teraflex that I already have. Ineos is not among the vehicles offered...
It appears none of the listed parts are for the Wrangler JL/JT or the Grenadier. I clicked through them all and none were for these models. They list the CV for the Wrangler JK which is an older model but not the current JL version.I tried to contact Dana but couldn't find any way to do so. I can't find an email address or contact form.

The driveshafts are made by Spicer Ayra Cardan, not actually Dana, but a sub-division. You might find something on a web search.I tried to contact Dana but couldn't find any way to do so. I can't find an email address or contact form.

That is some crazy shit honestly...... Sad just sad. This is a brand new shaft from Ineos, less than 500 miles. Photo taken today after a trip to Anza Borrego for 1.5 days. Look at all the wear in the boot at the differential.
King 1.5” lift and adjustable shocks.
My last shaft lasted 10k, mostly stock. I was on a 2” Eibach lift for maybe 1000 miles and that did it.That is some crazy shit honestly...... Sad just sad.
Isn’t that just the paraffin coating peeling off?View attachment 7919500This is a brand new shaft from Ineos, less than 500 miles. Photo taken today after a trip to Anza Borrego for 1.5 days. Look at all the wear in the boot at the differential.

All around its is just crazy.... I'm about to hit 10k full on my 2.5" kings shocks... I put it on right about 1200 miles and I'm nearing 11k. Everything looks okay thus far, I've been to Moab three times and did a lot out in CO. I also cruise 80mph ALOT.... just waiting for my day I guess. My last shaft lasted 10k, mostly stock. Went to Kings and here we are in 500 miles. 1 trip and really just 1 day of wheeling. Hell, you can hardly even call it that; most of it was stuff a Subaru could do.
I don’t understand how some with bigger lifts than I have can reach 7k unless it’s kept only on the street. Any sort of flex and you’re in trouble.
Who wants to sell me their Agile or Sven driveshaft?
So a moister barrier is peeling off the drive shaft?Isn’t that just the paraffin coating peeling off?
I recall having those coating falling off in geometric chunks from the boot like that when my stock vehicle had like 1k on the odoSo a moister barrier is peeling off the drive shaft?
Here’s info on the coating. You are probably only seeing the cracks in the coating. The unnatural geometric lines strongly hint that’s the case:My last shaft lasted 10k, mostly stock. I was on a 2” Eibach lift for maybe 1000 miles and that did it.

Only on the stock joint. When they are new they appear to have what I can only describe as a paraffin coating which tracks with OEM stuff. The Terra joints have no coating. I have found people conflating cracks in the coating with failing boots. That's just not the case.I did not know about the “paraffin coating” on the surface of the rubber either. Thank You
One thing I often think about is, whether any of the failed props are props that have been disconnected at some point for maintenance and repairs and never supported properly when the works were done. This may...
