Front drive shaft broken

When I made my loop mount bracket I left a 4-hole tab so I have somewhere to mount a camera, or a laser thermometer, if I want to observe the CV during operation.
Maybe some electronics whiz in the aftermarket can come with a solution to monitor CV joints.

Donno. Seems crazy that you would need a digital screen up constantly to monitor tcase temp for excessive heat when driving. So much for using CarPlay.
You should try the Off-Road screens. I've pretty much cut the CarPlay cord and mostly use other screens unless I need active mapping.

Yes I do use them to check tire pressures, gearbox / case temps when towing and they are good. But I have CarPlay up 99% of the time for on-road/offroad maps and music :)

Why would the tcase temperature provide insight into the front shaft’s cv condition ?
The theory is that the CV is mechanically connected to the T-case and that acts to a degree as a heat sink for the CV. But the reality is you won't see any appreciable change in temp and what you do see will be too late.

I’ll take two! (Can I get a “suitable for framing” photo of this ‘fix’ to put on my dashboard, so that I will feel better for now?😅)
IR sensor: $2.41. Circuit to turn the yellow/red LEDs on: another $10 in parts.
The diff end is super easy to mount on most aftermarket skidplates covering the pinion. The T-case end can be mounted on the transfer case crossmember.
