I just got the latest software update for my 2024 to finally eliminate the annoying speed nag, but unfortunately it has caused Android Auto to no longer work. I spent a few hours last night doing all the usual stuff -clearing cache, clearing data, restarting phone, resetting comm setting on ineos, unpairing, deleting, hard reset ineos, install beta version of android auto on the samsung fold 7 and nothing will get Android auto to start. The phone does connect via bluetooth and the Ineos sees it, but the phone says "start android auto on vehicle" which is supposed to start automatically. I've togged the android auto settings regarding auto start...and no luck.

So today, I got 2 of my employees Androids (different brands) and the same thing happened. It connects via bluetooth but android auto will not start no matter what.

Anybody else experiencing this?

thanks
tony

i know my phone needs wifi enabled both on the phone and the Grenadier's hotspot. Did you disable one or both?

I have both the latest SW + Android.

yup. also wiped out all previous network connections. disabled, enabled, reset... no matter what we try, we get the same message on every android. In the android auto app it shows it is connected to the grenadier but the pop up on the phone says to "enable android auto" on the vehicle. I've also tried starting the connection in the android auto settings on the phone and by holding in the mic button on the steering wheel. It goes through the process, shows it is connected to android auto but the android auto app just won't start up on the head unit in the ineos.

Have you gone to phone connection setting and clicked on Android Auto symbol? I run a pixel 9 and no issues. Same with my work Samsung fold.

yup. the andoid auto symbol does not appear in front of any of the phones we try to connect like it used to, even though the phones say they are connected to android auto. I am thinking something might have gotten corrupted in the software update. I am going to try my wife's iphone next and see if carplay works.

Also, try deleting every saved device connection from both the phone and the grenadier. Lock and exit the car. Come back tomorrow and re-pair.

I do remember having some similar difficulty paring after an update to my phone and it seemed to resolve itself with a large break in between where the infotainment system in the Granny needed to like reset completely v. Just standby mode

i have not tried locking yet. thanks for the suggestion! I have now tried 4 different android phones that have never been connected and all give the same message. But and iphone did connect right away. damn android..

I realise that you have a 2024 and believe android auto is wireless in that model ( I'm UK spec and 23 model so wasn't blessed with wireless and have to use a dongle). Have you tried making the connection hard wired into the "C" port. If that works then it is pointing to the update.

I was thinking exactly the same as @Eric : " I'm EU spec and 23 model so wasn't blessed with wireless and have to use a dongle", and if indeed it works with the C-Port. it could be that your update messed up with the wireless functionality.
