Air filter change

Responding to an earlier post by @LeeroyJ I just replaced mine and the same, was not attached to the filter but screwed into the housing. I left it in place and simply installed the new filter. I suspect down the road that can be removed and washed out since it is only for the large particulates.
Thanks, I just vacuumed it and left it in there too.

in reply to ORSO there is another intake muffler just before the air cleaner assembly. Since I was bored waiting for an oil catch can I went ahead and installed
it. Before and after pictures.

you're in the US so it must be a petrol engine right?

I went the K&N route and really like it... Slightly more noise, but super easy to clean and at altitude it definitely breathes better...

How’s it going with the K&N at this point? I’m strongly considering one for the ease of reuse. I might even run it in conjunction with one of the Uniflow foam pre filters.

@AFdude412 It works as expected.. A little more noise, a little better throttle response and easy to clean and replace. Just be careful not to over oil it when you clean it.

I think the big thing is when I go out and its super dusty, I clean the filter as part of cleaning the car... Way better than buying one after a dusty adventure...

Excellent. Thanks for that. The intake noise is like music to my ears!

And maybe I'll see you on the trails. I'm just up the road near Longmont.
