Who opted for fabric seats?

I
That would be 20C up there? My '95 Disco came down from Qld 3 years ago , no working heater, likely never ever used.
I've survived 2 Tassie winters so far. The hairshirt helps :D
I am sure somewhere I have a picture from 1987 of my wife throwing a jug of water on my frost covered HZ Kingswood vacationer outside our house in Exeter Tasmania.
Just north of Launceston.

Has anyone ever tried to mitigate hot leather with bright seat covers or had such covers on leather at all?
Does it make a difference in the summer?
The only cover I’ve encountered that seems not too bad are sheepskin.
Black Duck and canvas ones still get pretty toasty. But probably not as scorching as leather.

Vinyl or leather in Oz are both deadly if the sun is directly on them... grenadierboy[which by the way is a great name]has got it right with the sunshield but I am going fabric with heavy-duty covers and still will have to throw a towel over my seat in some cases for sure...happy motoring
If I can't park in the shade on a hot day I put up a foldable windscreen sunshield & that usually stops most of the sun hitting the dash/seat backs.

Problem is that the seat isn't the only problem
The steering wheel, gear knob, centre consol lid, silver wheel,
Most places like shopping centres have undercover parking or shade sails

That’s if you fit under all those pesky low obstacles.

I had a lot of trouble with my Mazda BT50 once I fitted roof racks
Watched a woman in a beefed up landcruiser tear the fire pipes off the roof in an underground carpark a few years ago.
She went in at about 60kmh
Most of the outdoor parks covered in shade sails are pretty high to allow for vans and trucks

Moving to God’s waiting room huh.
Nice spot.
The guy across the road is 96, still drives his car fairly well, mow's his lawn on a ride on mower nearly every day.
There are a few nearby in their 80's and 90's
Zero stress
everyone seems to go for a walk twice a day

Most of the vehicles I have had over the last 25 years have had leather seats and I was going for the leather option again, but after having a ride in a Grenadier with fabric seats I changed to heated fabric and with the savings added some "nice to haves" - the tailgate table, the compass with altimeter, and checker plate on the wings.
Put like that it seems a decent trade off. 👍

Although, I've taken some stick at home for specing the compass with altimeter.
