Torx Screw - Front Headlight Cover

Hi all - does anyone know the specification for the Torx screw that holds on front headlight cover on? I was installing an accessory headlight cover today and stripped one. Thanks!

Hi elderderek, The reason it may have stripped may be because the screw needs a Tork + (PLUS) driver bit.
The Grenadier has both regular Tork Screws and Tork + (PLUS) screws.
If you find your driver is a bit loose in the screw, then it may be because the screw has a Tork + screw head and you are using a regular Tork Bit Driver.

No, I couldn't even successfully drill it out. I took it to the dealer and they got it out for me, but didn't have a replacement screw, so I still need to find one!

bumping an old thread, but did you ever figure out what or how to get a replacement screw? I stripped one removing the plastic headlight fascia.

Depending on where you live if you have a good hardware store like McFaddendale or even good Ace hardware have a good selection of fasteners.

I'll check at ace, have a couple good ones but have struggled there with anything automotive

Quality torq bits and staying away from the impact go a long way. Don't over use the bits. If they get a little rounded just get a new one.

yeah i have no clue how i stripped this, literally used tiny hand tools for that exact reason. ended up being a real PITA to get out, but was able to grab it with pliers and rotate enough to get it out.
