Right now I'm looking for a 2010-2013 LR4. The weak points of this LR are that the timing chain guides tend to wear out leading to catastrophic failure and the coolant pipe connectors are made of plastic that tends to get brittle over time leading to sudden loss of coolant and a nuked motor. LR recommended 15k mi service intervals which is about 2x what they really should be. So finding a properly maintained LR is like finding a needle in a haystack. Because otherwise the timing chain fix and coolant hoses fix will cost upwards of $10k, making the overwhelming majority of LR4 asking prices way too high.

I have owned previously
2003 freelander TD5 sport (The worst car I have ever owned it was so bad within 3 months of ownership electrical problems locked in the car 4 times in 40C heat with the children in portugal had to climb out the rear window new clutch and gearbox at 6000KM the list went on and on fuel cap broke inside the tank car looked great but was terrible.
I have owned 2 defenders 110 Crew Cab Puma 2012 and a 90 Puma 2009 what can I say they do a job, build quality is not great.
