Wheel/Tire Upgrade Photos

35 x 11.5 Toyo AT3 C load range. No lift. Turned wheel pics at full lock with steering stop adjusted to max (fully screwed in with retaining nut still on). So far so good. Steers easily with Fox stabilizer. No real change in acceleration or stopping compared to 285/70r17 tires. Spare clears small rear door with owl bracket. Wheels are 17x8 with 40 offset to provide a little poke compared to stock and easily clear suspension components.
Looks great. How is the ride quality and noise?

Looks so good! Is there a reason you went with that size over the 35x12.5 LT?
A few reasons. The main one is that they barely fit without rubbing on the stock suspension. I suspect the 12.5” wide would rub at full lock. The other is the on road driving characteristics of a narrower tire vs wide, although these are still relatively wide. The last reason was weight. These tires weigh 61 lbs and several of the 315s or 35x12 are pushing 70 lbs. My neighbor has this exact same brand / size on a Gladiator so I was able to also check them out before buying them.

Ride quality is great and basically the same as the 285/75r17 ko3s, but quieter. The toyos have less aggressive tread than the Ko3s and are quieter plus they weigh less for the same size and load range. I prefer the look of the ko3s, but am very happy with these from a performance and appearance standpoint.

Finally got mine pretty much done. MT Baja boss 255/85 17. Titan7 forged wheels ET39. Eibach 2” lift, Radflo shocks.

IG 17 inch alloys, with 295/70/r17 BFG
no lift necessary and spare JUST fits on the rear without impinging small door.
no notable change in highway noise but has reduced fuel economy a little.
HI HT - how are you finding these tyres now you’ve had them for a while? What are they like off road?
