What did you do with your Grenadier today?

My puncture did not get fixed at the service, so I gave the wheel to Eden Tyres in Melton Mowbray to sort out. Turns out the tyre has been plugged once already and the technician spotted a screw in the middle of the tread. This has been plugged and sealed for £25.00, and they put it back on the front nearside and put the spare back. TPMS did not squeak once, so all is well.

The technician was quite taken by the Grenadier; he had not been close to one before; thought the dash was like an old military aeroplane - not a modern one as that would be a glass-cockpit.

Pushed it to 99 mph on 295/70/17s. Buttery smooth.

Visiting fam in hilly SF.

Brake. Shift to neutral. Set parking brake. Release brakes. Shift to P.

Parking brake works well.

You will get a ticket if you park like that in sf. By law if there is a incline on the road, and even if it's tiny, You must angle the wheel in the downhill direction towards the curb.

Installed rear ladder Maxtrax mounts. I'm not 100% happy with it; there's movement no matter how tight I fasten them, and it makes access to the rear door handle quite difficult. A bit disappointing since I do like the location for them there, easy to access and not causing more wind drag. But will probably revert back to a roofbar mounted solution.

A bit disappointing since I do like the location for them there, easy to access and not causing more wind drag. But will probably revert back to a roofbar mounted solution.

When they are mounted they're pretty stable. It's just a bit difficult to access the rear door handle, although not impossible. It's also partially blocking my Wolfbox rear cam.. should have thought of that before I ordere the mounts.

The right side bar of this mount (DVA Mechanics) doesn't have support at the bottom, due to the shape of the Grenadier's ladder. Therefore, when you close the rear door, that right side bar bounces around quite a bit. I imagine it's no different when driving around, getting a lot of vibration. I don't think it does any harm right now, but I don't love the idea of anything shaking around and I think over time that doesn't do any good to the mount itself, paint on the ladder etc.

I'm not saying it's a bad solution, just a bit different than I expected it to be. Maybe I'm too nitpicky though

DVA is one of the more substantive mounts.

Use a wheel mount, put them on sideways

Haven't been happy with the UHF microphone placement for a while.

So I reworked a design produced by Dan to put the mic holder further left and include a hook to support a shopping bag or such.

Has worked out quite well and save having the shopping rolling around the foot well

The "tag" line is asking you to put key words that attached to the post for search purposes.

Use something like " switches; overhead, 3d print, STL"
