Steering stabilizer bar

Driver's side bolt partially screwed in. Just need to tighten it. Hardest part is blindly aiming (oxymoron) the bolt into the nut while aligning the second washer. Would be much easier if vehicle was on a lift.

Can you explain what you mean by washer? I had no washers come with my steering damper. Nor were there any washers in the stock hardware.

I recommend the use of a dead blow hammer with a non marring face. That should dislodge the bolt without causing any damage.
agree...put head over a sturdy mount that is open in middle or over spread jaws of vise...and use deadblow hammer to knock out. Even if rusted should knock out especially if soaked in PB BLaster overnight. It just slides in does not thread through that part. Good luck. Or look at head of it and find a replacement bolt...I bet Agile Offroad can give you what is used if cant determine on own.

Is that a sleeve around the 18mm bolt? Or is that just discoloration from the rubber damper?
There is a sleeve fitted, from memory it goes on the outside mounting point near the wheel as the bolt is thinner than the inside one. The LHD differs on the inside mounting point in terms of the bracket being tucked further under, not sure if it differs on the outside or if they use different bolts.

Is that sleeve reused? I think for the Agile damper they say to keep it ziptied to the stock damper so I assume not reused.

I can definitely try that when I get home. You sure it isn’t threaded? Nothing to lose I guess.

Mine came with the washer/spacer seen attached with a ziptie in this screenshot...

Maybe your stabilizer is a newer design that no longer needs it?

If your local dealer does not have the bolt you need in stock and you don’t want to wait the sometimes months it can take to order parts from INEOS, I’ve found the website belmetric useful for sourcing hardware. I don’t know the exact size bolt you need so this link is just representative
I use Belmetric often as well.

There is absolutely a sleeve on the stock part. The new unit will not require a sleeve.

Anyone know what the thread pitch should be? The bolt is proving difficult to source from dealer.
