Sill water tanks

I am in a slight predicament as I am trying to protect my IP.
The jigs are made. The system picks up on all of the factory points, so it is a retro-fit system. I am currently driving around with it in different states of ‘water level’ to test for handling irregularities (none so far). Also testing for pressure bleed (none so far).
Where are you based Logsplitter, as I am happy to show you the system to get your feedback?
I will discuss with my working partner (filter manufacturer) on how best to proceed on here.
I have another system not related to water storage that I am very excited about but again trying to protect IP.
Bear with me!
I hope you are well

How is the development work progressing?

Sorry for the delay, I missed this response. I have been covering more mileage ahead of getting the finalised version together along with tying up loose ends on the exclusivity on the filter side of things on vehicle with the manufacturer. This is now done, so am happy to reveal who I am working with.. https://iconlifesaver.com/ I suggest reading up about their filters to understand why they were the only party that I would work with. They don’t produce ‘taste good’ filters, they remove all sorts of nasties. The UK and US military use them and have been lab tested with simulated sewerage for 10 days. This allows refill from stream/well etc whilst on your travels.
I will put a few images up to show the prototype, things are set to change with placement of parts, but it will give you an idea of what to expect.
I am happy to report that there is no change to the handling of the vehicle with respect to ESP/ABS intervention when fitted with a ‘full tank’. The tank is not in its final finish, but may well stay unpainted as it is 316 stainless and will have a brushed finish.

I’m interested in what you are doing and keen to see what the finished product looks like. I’m going to be away until early November but keen to catch up on my return to see what your product looks like in the flesh. Are you making combined sill tank/rock sliders for both sides?

Try this one!

sorry guys but this is a really bad idea to put the tank on this place. you will destroy them pretty fast

I was thinking the same thing. Is this strong enough to take the weight of the loaded vehicle on rocks ?

3mm 316 boxed stainless steel , you would have to be going some to destroy it. This is not supposed to be something that you go smashing through a boulder field with. You can jack the vehicle with it no problem. I appreciate it is not going to be for everyone.

Looks good

What is the capacity?

Rough pricing?
Currently circa 22 Litres, this is set to change in a positive way as there is some room available to increase the depth. I do not like to talk price until I am finished on the developement, sensible for what you are getting is what I would say on that side of things. Obviously once I have confirmation, I will advise.

As stated, this isn’t for everyone, I would wager that this is going to be just as strong as the supplied rock slider/step from INEOS. I am utilising the same pick up points on the chassis (all three, unlike some other manufacturers) and not using low grade tubular steel that rots from the inside out. The welding is being done by an ex-Prodrive fabricator, good enough for Le Mans, Dakar and WRC, good enough for me.

To give you a better idea, this is from the other side of the vehicle, a different system but will give you an idea on finish and form factor, this has been on for 18 months on test, no issue and not oxidation . Side pipe is mine (frees up room for range extender tank) along with MOLLE panels. Other bits have already been developed, again, just trying to protect the business at this stage.

This is a pretty solid idea.

Being able to take the weight of the car, like the OE rock sliders do and the sidesteps don't, is going to be critical for off-road use. But as you said, not everyone is going off-road!
