What a superb, well designed and made permanent fridge/draw/sleeping platform system. (How good is Purnell as a cabinet maker/designer!).

I would love to build something like this but don't have the skills necessary nor, and most importantly, the tools.
I know. It’s amazing. The build that @Tazzieman posted is fantastic too.

I have some trouble being confident of a construction using screws into "five ply" when travelling over Australia's corrugated road system outback. those corrugations are enough to make even welded stuff come undone.
In the USA they seem to stick to highways.
I'd feel a bit of a DH with that glam setup. It's bad enough what my wife has dreamed up as "needs"!
Just as well the Ineos payload is good. Not as good as my S3 109 1 tonner but hey , corrugations+ marriage = divorce!

This is the most amazing build I've seen, though I don't reckon it's easy to remove!

Yes.

A more straight forward build than the above Overland build draw & sleeping system, especially as a steel frame is not used.

The finish is not quite as good but probably easier to DIY.

However, it's still plenty innovative, with great accessory ideas.

Obviously if a sleeping platform is NOT required inside the car, then a lot more draws, larger fridges & storage solutions can be incorporated.

The internal water storage system is certainly interesting.

I am with you 100%.

For the next 3/4 years - I only need a storage system for 7 to 8 times a year, maybe 25 days, tops.

The other 340 days I need the rear space unencumbered (including back seats down) for bikes, dogs, building stuff, clothes, rubbish and the rest of life's detritus that needs moving houses.

So, it simple really: I want an efficient, well made, creative, flexible & comprehensive storage & draw system, incorporating a cooking device & fridge BUT that is fairly portable; i.e. it can be fully removed in an hour or so.

DOES IT EXIST OR WILL I NEED TO COMMISSION A BESPOKE VERSION?
Have you perused the Drifta range of late? https://www.drifta.com.au/camping-kitchens-car-backs/ ;)

I guess that's where a welded steel frame system would be superior.

Nice to have some of the machinery to make bespoke components 😳

looked like fun build, but limits the use of that rear space. Horses for courses I guess.

Currently thinking about building a set up that will clip into the rear rails. Have it on a trolley arrangement outside vehicle so it can be rolled up to back of wagon already loaded then slid in and clipped down in 5 minutes on my own. Definitely welded frame and ball bearings to give the best chance of surviving.

I really can’t commit to a full system like that, but would love some of those setups. Something removable makes more sense and allows for greater flexibility of use for the cargo area. Downside though, installing and removing something bulky will get old fast. I’m looking forward to seeing the ideas and build of the folks here. Not just with storage solutions, but everything on these trucks as people make them their own.

Actually, just realised that I have ordered the fold down table, but that will be a pain with the fridge on the right, so will probably put the fridge on the left, which will be more convenient for power, but then may block access to jack etc. Maybe will put jack in rear wheel carrier lockable storage and put an inverter in that space.
We discussed this at SLRV the other day.
The jack has to be relocated or you will have to unload half the vehicle and draws to get to it
A foam insert in the spare wheel box should work

The factory offering is just the starting point for discussions!
My spare wheel box will house recovery gear ; not sure if enough room for a jack also.

I really like the idea of the entire structure mounted on a single sliding platform.
Taking note of Bushguide's experience with screwed 5 ply... I wondered about the effectiveness of mounting the base frame containing the said platform slide on anti-vibration mounts e.g.
https://airwholesalers.com.au/product/anti-vibration-rubber-mounts/
Coupled with the superior NVH of the Grenadier suspension, it may be enough to reduce the likelihood of catastrophic failure of properly reinforced wooden "glued and screwed" structures....

Does anyone have the distance from seat (in flat fold position) to the inside of rear doors please. Thinking custom tank. 200mm x 200mm x 1000mm. But hoping to still get the bushman fridge in (700mm). I recall 800mm shortest distance between seat and door. And at floor level to the door is over 900mm but just hoping at the 200mm height it's still over 900mm.

Yeah thanks Dave. But I meant at the actual folded position. As in those wanting to do a complete flat platform using the seats as part of it. If you were to sleep in it you would continue a level section from Seats to the doors. That's the measurement I'm after. If that makes sense.

Download the pdf Pocket guide https://www.theineosforum.com/resources/grenadier-pocket-guide.11/
The last page has load stats: max distance behind front seats varies between 1645mm (luggage length) and 1795mm (floor length)...
Presuming this is with front seats in rear-most position. Fully forward may add an extra 100mm ...I haven't been able to confirm.

Sorry I should be more specific. From the back seats to the door. But The bottom of the back support (but when it's horizontal not vertical)

I'm thinking that Front Runner Outfitters (S.Africa) will be one of the first to develop a rear drawer system....but it might be shallow height to match the folded seat height (DUMB DESIGN I.A.!), so that there's a completely flat interior sleeping surface.

I had the FRO drawer system in my gray G500 and it was very useful (granted, I slept in the Autohome Columbus RTT, not inside).
LOTS of different setups here;

Totally agree it was a bit short sighted to not be level, but I guess with the electrics it made it difficult. My hope too is for something useful to level things.
