A perfect illustration of why you should always be in the driver's seat while winching :)

Glad you got it out into some good stuff and had some fun with it

@OverlandGearGuy your reactions had me cracking up! And, the smile never left your face. Now, I'm looking forward to the full movie.

It was such a Fun Day, had a few mishaps, and learned some things, and did not cause to much damage.

THX

@OverlandGearGuy

What was your tire pressure? I didn't see much fold on the rock you slid off. Maybe it's time for bigger tires.

Well that was part of the problem, we didn't air down at all, we thought about that afterwards LOL

I would love bigger tires, but I would not be able to fit it in my garage ;-(

But I think if I had aired down it would have helped

Bigger tires needed for sure. I much rather would be out of the car winching. On that slippery ground some rock chocks, or sticking your truck in the ditch also can help. Sometimes some foot brake is all it takes obviously, but I usually test first. These trucks are heavy enough that you will out weigh most of the vehicles you recover, so should be a great recovery vehicle. If you have a winch, you will end up using it a lot. Not just to save your rig, your bacon or others but for all sorts of things. I do not EVER go off road with out a winch and rock sliders. Everything else can wait. As far as your damage:

1. Mud flaps are for screw drivers to remove.
2. Skid plates are for denting.
