Hood not fully latched

The hood needs to be dropped from a height, in my case over 3-4 feet. It makes a real thud, but it shuts.,

Rather than slamming it shut push it down with your hand for the first latch, then lean into each front corner a bit with your elbow and forearm for the secondary latch. You can also adjust the overhead hood striker to lengthen it, so it latches easier down below, which I did with one because it was always more difficult. After dropping mine a few times I realized that's a lot of shock at the two hinges that are mounted less than an inch below the glass. Never again.

Don't really need to drop it from several feet. Typically 8" will get the job done. At least thats what she tells me.

I typically jump up while holding the hood and come down as hard as I can to get it to latch. :)

Make sure it’s latched well.

How did this happen? Well let me say , once I hit that barely 1/2 tank of fuel it’s a loud and repetitive GONG. Plus that 2000 day over due alert and I do my own maintenance I tend to ignore those. Hence the problem. If your hood is u latched there is no safety latch always fount on other vehicles. Then it’s a very brief (one second) and light ding. Like that on the lane warning or whatever we ignore all the time.

I should get it back end of this week.
