Hood not fully latched

Is that because your hood is effectively upside down on the other side of the equator?

Rather than slamming it shut push it down with your hand for the first latch, then lean into each front corner a bit with your elbow and forearm for the secondary latch. You can also adjust the overhead hood striker to lengthen it, so it latches easier down below, which I did with one because it was always more difficult. After dropping mine a few times I realized that's a lot of shock at the two hinges that are mounted less than an inch below the glass. Never again.

No. But dropping the heavy hood repeatedly from several feet as some are doing could possibly crack the windshield. It's not necessary.

Don't really need to drop it from several feet. Typically 8" will get the job done. At least thats what she tells me.

I typically jump up while holding the hood and come down as hard as I can to get it to latch.
