Grenadier Servicing Price Australia

Hi RunningFree,

I Had my Grenadier serviced by American Motors, AM group Adelaide on 3/2/2025, third of February 2025 for Americans, my Grenadier was the first Grenadier they had serviced, and they spent quite a bit of the day working on it.
They charged $969.80 including GST, for the service, and in that service they changed engine, diffs, and transfer case oils, oil filter and fuel filter, and replaced the climate filter, and did software updates, they also did all the normal checks including brake measurement's etc.
I am very happy with their service, and would recommend them, and they supplied a free loan vehicle.

Cheers,

Steve.

Almost forgot, they blew the dust out of the air cleaner, and washed the outside of the car and vacuumed the inside.
Hi RYAustralia,

This was my experience with AM Group Adelaide, it was a good one.

Cheers,

Steve.

Just had 30k service done at 4x4 Garage Canberra. Cost was high compared to what others have reported, $1307 (including tax).
Breakdown:
Labour: $731.27 (excl tax)
Parts: $248.38 (includes Brake fluid, oil filter, water separator filter, air filter and 1lL Ad-blue)
Service sundries: $208.63 (this includes $167.63 for engine oil)
Total: $1,188.28 (excluding tax).

Quite the list of checks, although some are km/time dependent and thus would not have been done this service.

However, was told that 4x4 Garage is closing down as an Inoes agent. Apparently the AUDI dealership, which owns 4x4 Garage, has been sold, and the new owners could not come to agreement with Ineos. I did ask about whether they will continue to service the Grenadier, given they have set up a new worksop for it, and they did not know at this stage. I also noted, that the Nissan dealership just around the corner had brand new Grenadiers in the yard. So the the RAM dealer on the corner.

So I guess we may be looking for other service agents in Canberra in the near future. I believe the Series Workshop in Fyshwick was looking at possible servicing Grenadiers. Having previously been a customer of theirs with my Disco 4, I can attest that Johnny and his team are very good and thorough, but you do pay for good service. Question is whether they will have access to diagnostics etc.

I have my 30k service with 4x4 garage on the 15th May and it will be the last with them. I have been waiting since early Dec to get my non functional Air Conditioning fixed and would have called them close to 20 times during this period with most of these going unanswered and no call returned.

My understanding is that the Nissan dealership will be taking over both sales and servicing going forward, but I couldn't wait for the transition as I'm already over 30kms.

The sooner we get the full service manuals and ability to reset the service reminders the better. There are lots of independent service agents who specialise in BMW servicing who will be cheaper and do a much better job.

Having given up trying with 4x4 garage, I took our vehicle to Tony Leahey Group in Orange, serviced by Joe at their Prestige Motors BMW shopfront. 30K service, I supplied the oil, dealt with 3 service bulletin items and did a tyre rotation, also did additional heating circuit flush trying to diagnose a weak heater output (it seems the airconditioning problems we originally had serviced in Cairns resulted in a heater mixer box reassembly which now prevents the warm side mix for heating the cabin... never noticed this living in the tropics, Canberra is a different story) All done just under $1100 with a job logged with Ineos to resolve the heater mixer issue. Unfortunately, the shopfront there also confirmed they are ceasing support to Ineos from October onwards - that leave Purnell's in ACT/NSW until an ACT solution materialises. @weeman like you, I can't wait for some servicing material and a software firewall breakdown for diagnostics to allow independent operators loose on our grenadiers.

Has anyone visited Gosford for a service or for any other items?

Purnell, at least for me, continues to not deliver adequately.

I purchase through 4x4Garage and persevered with service there until they stopped taking my calls... I consequently had my 45k service done by Brian Hilton Ineos in Gosford while on a road trip. They were very accommodating and were able to book me in the following day after I dropped in unannounced in person to check them out. Very efficient production line check-in process in the morning, with detailed photos taken and confirmation of all work to be done etc. They were able to talk with knowledge on Grenadier specific issues, provided a drop off and pickup service, and also sent me a video inspection report. All in all a very good experience.

Thanks. Very good to know

I now use Gosford as my dealer(Newcastle) closed, originally I wasn’t that impressed, but they have really picked up their game. They have a heap of mechanics, but only one does the Grenadiers.

Well I'm still far from impressed with Ineos servicing and warranty work in SA...

Gong back to the start I was charged for a service that didn't happen, and when I pulled them up on it they agreed to redo the service but still didn't, ultimately I got it serviced elsewhere and got stuck with the cost (anda list of warranty issues to fool up on), this was May last year. I also had some warranty issues I wanted looked at (in addition to what the independent mechanic picked up), none were addressed

Since then the dealer has has changed, which took a while, and in JAN of this year took it in to the new dealer to get the warranty stuff looked at, but nothing happened...

So I went back in APR and they did the entire process again, at least this time I got a loan car so I could go to work. But after 2 weeks hadn't heard anything back so emailed them with Ineos AUS included. Got an email back from Ineos AUS (but not the dealer) letting me know their service manager had left the dealer and the new one would contact me. That was 3 weeks ago and still nothing...

For the past year I've been doing fortnightly maintenance on my car myself due to the issues (oil (front diff and engine) and coolant top ups) while other minor issues (door seals etc.) just get worse and no one seems to want to deal with them.

I love the car, and being an early adopter expected some issues that I thought would be addressed as they arose, but if I knew the post sale service would be this terrible 2 years later I would have not bought this car...

So disappointing... I visited our SA dealership late last year and was shown around their workshop by their service manager Paul. I was impressed with their attitude and enthusiasm for the Grenadier and was hopeful that at last, we might be onto a good thing here in SA. But... Only last week I tried to book my car in for it's 15000km service with American Motors (our SA dealer) using their online contact form. I heard nothing back for over a week, so I rang their business today. Was less than impressed with the rather disorganised and somewhat disinterested phone manner of the service chap I spoke to. Based on your experiences Miltz, I'm feeling far less confident about their willingness and abilities. I'll report back after my car has had it's service. Fingers crossed!!
