Today, a black IG PT02 - 47 was been spotted driving around Melbourne, apparently by Head of INEOS Australia, Justin Hocevars, (details posted on FB by a passenger).

See photos. Note: the photo with the Audi dealership in the background is only a few meters from one of the Melbourne based INEOS agents.

Note: Side-steps; Roo bar: exterior & interior utility rails; rubber floor mats;

Comments (from the passenger) were that the IG drives very well around the inner city streets, especially in tight spaces/streets and over speed humps, same as for a GU Nissan Patrol. The IG was quite and smooth.

Moreover, it was stated that left footrest (for RHD cars), that has been of concern on prototype RHD cars, was not intrusive and was not an issue. This is very good to hear. It looks to be as wide but seems to have a lower profile.

I'll wager JH has a lot of new "best friends"!
I note that the plastic moulding over the rear RHS wheel housing is still the awkward shape... wonder what's underneath and why they wouldn't put a laterally-inverted version of the LHS moulding....
The vehicle is not fitted with Safari windows... that may offer possibilities for (shallow) o'head storage on both sides of the switch panel (e.g. for UHF radio etc).....
Thnks for the pics Grenadierboy (y)

> wonder what's underneath
Exhaust pipe.

Missed the point, sorry.

I think somewhere in an earlier thread it was mentioned that the fuel tank opening is on this side so the pipe eats into the space of wheel housing.

On the ones I have seen, yes the fuel filler is on that side..no idea if it’s eats into the space though.

Having sat in the drivers seat of an IG, I have already stated that the pedals and left footrest controversy is a storm in a tea cup.

unless you like wearing hefty boots and are a size 15 then I don’t think it will be a problem

It's definitely not the exhaust pipe.

See above. ;-)

Isn't the fuel filler more aft?

Not the youngest photograph, and there are better ones. But you get the point:

Ok, missed that. Was even astonished about the fuel filler to be in front ... 🙃

Thanks for the clarification. (y)

GME make some great UHF radios where the head unit (quite a small head unit at that) is out of sight and all the controls are through the hand held speaker microphone. I’ve run with two previously on different vehicles and loved them and will get another for the IG.

The large black boxes in the middle (rear passenger) are the battery and aux battery.

This and previous battery pics on this forum do make me question the ‘hose out interior’ approach extolled - with these two battery units and associated wiring where they are.

The whole box seems to be mostly holes...

Battery on the left and aux battery placement on the right. In the pic there doesn’t appear to be an aux battery installed.

An interesting development in Sydney, Australia.

This weekend there is a 4wd show on in Sydney ‘Sydney 4WD and Adventure show’.

I received an Ineos email today about the Grenadier being there. I assumed a prototype, but no. A production model of all things.

“…And get up close to our rugged off-roader as one of the first people in Australia able to sit in a full production model.”
