Our reply (trandlated via Google as reply was in Spanish)

Good morning Michael
I will answer you in Spanish that my English is a little poor.
If I can send you the front grilles without problems, in our workshop (Bumar-xtrem) we are dedicated to cutting and deforming sheet metal and preparing vehicles for off-road use.
Any questions I am at your disposal
All the best

I then replied with:

There are many members interested in your grille and given that it is relatively flat, I think shipping should be straight forward. Moreover, I think purchases would probably be "group buys" where an order would be for multiple units which would make things easier for you and ultimately cheaper for us since the shipping costs would be divided.

So, a few questions.

1-What would the cost be per unit (without shipping)?

2-What material options are there (aluminum and stainless (304 or 316)?

3-Is powder coating an option? If so, are there color options other than black?

4-Can the grille be made without the Grenadier cutout?

I will keep you all posted.
Nice work Krabby!

Just FYI: there are a lot of powder coating shops around (at least four in the Denver area, for example). A small item like this is easy to drop-off and pick-up, and it won't be a lot of $, so if he can't do powder coating its no big deal (for most folk).

Aside: anyone remember "Picov Andropov" from the Car Guys?

Update from Spain:

304 Stainless
45 Euro each with a minimum order of 25
No mention of powder coat
Not sure on cost of shipping and whatever else that entails. I know nothing about international shipping - does anyone here deal with importing and such?

Thanks @Krabby, powder coat would be good. I'm in for a groupe buy, too.

Ultimately I think group buys might be regional - shipping to the States and Oz might need to be separate orders on the shipping side. Not sure on the production numbers to be made.

Are you thinking that there would one combined shipment to each country, for example a shipment to you as the US POC and then further distribution to each US member that ordered?

That looks like a functional upgrade. I'd be interested for sure.
And if he can design a tail light protector (a more complex task) , I'd also put my hand up.

Well done @Krabby - top man.

Hands up for those that want one in the UK?

p.s there's no way I'm going to google Bumar-xtrem on my work computer.

I would also be very interested in placing an order. But it would have to be delivered to Switzerland...

I think so - I'm not sure if he meant 25 total pieces or 25 per region. I've been a bit busy so that's been on the back burner a bit.

I've never dealt with shipping something like this so I was hoping for someone with experience of that nature to help on that end.

Why can't they be sold on ebay? I do this with car parts all the time.
The maker can churn out small batches as required ; the buyer just adds their region and postage is automatically calculated based on the pacakge size and weight.
Unless postage is exorbitant , which for some countries it sometimes is.

I cannot say for certain, but I do not think the supplier wants to deal with that.

Thanks for the legwork! No mention of whether it could be fabricated without the "Grenadier" laser cut writing?
