Front Drive Shaft Update

My #2 question was more along the lines, that I don’t want to spend on a 3rd party fix only to have IG come out with a replacement under warranty.

My issue with the alternatives is that my main ‘trip’ is a two hour up and down with high speed (80MPH+ briefly), and a lot if engine braking. When I get to the destination, it is all medium speed and Offroad. The second half seems like it would be fine for the Agile alternative, the first maybe not so much.
Best solution for your use case (at the moment) is to not lift your truck. While failures have occurred in non-lifted trucks they are rare.
 
What is the average cost of these repairs if outside warranty?
It depends if there is a secondary damage. In my case I needed new oil cooler lines, gearbox thermostat, prop shaft and gearbox oil. Ultimately a new gearbox, transfer box cables and heat shielding was needed. . You’ll see the gearbox has two impact marks this caused a hairline crack where one of the screws for the gearbox plastic pan connects.

Looks generally ok to me. The holes are located directly over the bearing pockets. To me it just looks like it cooked itself and the driver stopped for a moment or even parked it with glowing hot bearings. They melted out the relatively cheap and thin metal boot flange as those were the bearings close enough at the time it was stopped.

I was wondering what had caused the metal to look like it had exploded from the inside. I don't see a lot of escaped grease though.
